The All New Tas - What's for Dinner Thread - & - Don't Get Uppity.

Tas mentioned there was a good thread on - What's for Dinner.

Seems it ended up - a bit ' snooty '.

So - no fancy - dancy - stuff - just good fresh ideas for dins.

Oh - & Freddie - just loved the zucchini slice - if you could just put it here one more time - I swear not to lose it again.

And please - this time add the - zucchinis. lol.

Here - tonight - Chicken Schnit's with salad.

not_for_sale, yes, that's what I cooked it in.  I sprayed it with cooking spray first because being glass of course, it might have been a hammer and chisel episode to get it out when cooked.  I could have used some butter and flour to grease it with, but as usual, it was a bisonic stampede to get everything done quickly.

It's just a pie dish as the pie doesn't rise as such. I think I bought it from Coles not that long ago, sort of a Pyrex.

Well worth trying the recipe out though, it tasted really nice.

I didn't think of putting tomato on top Stawks, thanks for that, I will do that next time ... makes it look a bit more special too.

Greasing the dish is a must.

Hope you have leftovers for tomorrow, Tas.

It's better the next day.

Spoiler
I actually think the bottom goes browner if not cooked in glass - just sayin'

I think you might be right there Stawks, definitely better the next day and there is quite a bit left.

Agree with you about cooking in glass too.  One of the tricks I've learned is to let the pie dish get hot before putting the ingredients in, but on the other hand, that's a lot of extra snoofing around and can lead to burnt digits ..  Woman LOL

Back tomorrow ... thanks everyone, I'll be making the trifle and the butter chicken on Sunday  xx

I've done it with cherry tomatoes halved and put on top, and chicken and asparagus filling.  Chicken and corn is a nice change too. Frozen peas are another idea.

You can do just about any filling you like....I find it a good way to use up leftovers.

Tonight!!!  It be one sausage each with a minor flock of oven baked chippies!

Well, after all, it is Friday;   I suppose I could carve the snags into a fish shape (as in eels) ...  Smiley Tongue
