The CARBON tax is working great, not

Its seems to have been kept fairly quiet

BUT

Yesterday, we hit 400 parts per million of atmospheric CO2

Seriously hawk, I know (or at least I hope) you are smarter than to think that the tax itself is the catalyst for lowering our greenhouse gases. ?:|

Fossil fules will continue to be used because there is no alternative on terns energy to cost of aquisition and refinement.

The only viable alternative is nuclear energy generation, which will come to be accepted as the supply of fossil fuels deminishes.

Solar, wind and tide energy generation can never replace the energy generated by fossil fuels, therefore they will be used as long as they last.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Do wo know just what the greenhouse gases are and in what poroportions?

our system of government is one reason why you cant lessen emissions with anything else. coal is a commodity exported by private companies under free trade agreements, a government can't legally ban its export or consumption. government has one instrument to lessen emissions available to it .. and that is a market based mechanism or ETS. we are not alone in it either as some would claim.

the first six months of the scheme startup (or carbon tax if you prefer) reduced emissions of carbon from electricity production by 8.6 % in australia. its a model others are following as it works. its obviously not well understood though.

Of course changing climate is a reality, I doubt that anyone would deny that.

It should be 100% of especially scientists to realize that fact.

Wanna apply that kind of unreachable bar to politics?...the only profession that doesn't even need the facts or the majority?....sheesh

Cue the rise in CO2 has been happening since 1900, so if as the experts state its caused by burning fossil fuels then my statement that a tax is not going to reverse this trend.

to have any effect we would need to reduce levels of those emitted back in the early 1900s this is where my comment about needing to drastically reduce the worlds population.

The next issue is that CO2 is going to be around for 200years so they say.

So that being the case the levels wont start to reduce until around 2200AD

again this is where my comment that we have started something that cant be stopped even if we wanted to or could stop burning fossil fuels.

Reading warm and fuzzy spin is nice but the reality is we are toast, the climate will change until we are removed and in a few thousand years life may start again

A much ignored factor in all this without question....

& that's why we need to develop clean coal burning technology with JUST FOR ONCE, the profit staying in THIS country....just saying

How convenient.

This is the most common graphic representation of green house gasses and their proportions used by the "Global Warming Nuts"

Now for reality the largest proportion has been neglected to be included and that is watervapor

When you include that it makes the other graphic representations look pretty stupid
