Hey everyone...
So, we all know theres an election coming up!
September the 14th is the big day. Like mentioned, plenty of time for us all to plan for that date.
Also means its going to be a looooooong campaign.
For the peace of the board, so everything else doesnt get pushed down by debates on policies and dirt and gossip (and digs at each other personally) etc, can we at all perhaps try to contain as much as we can in a thread much like this?
Theres bound to be plenty of healthy debate (particularly by a few members well known for their strong stance and support for a certain party) and its always easier to follow it etc in one place.
Should be an interesting year ahead! I know I for one am looking forward to it!

"Anyone else care to join me?"
Not a chance sunshine....I don't call then Dullard and Blabbott for nothing...I want mileage out of any laugh they provide the opportunity to have. As I've said in another thread, if only MAX GILLIES or someone like him were extracting the urine from Pollies these days by taking them off, (as they did way back when) elections might be a whole lot more fun.
These days, we have to extract the urine ourselves.....lol

For those that argue about the actual day of the Election and how it coincides with certain sporting and religious (and no doubt social etc) events.
Does it really matter?
Doesnt everyone have the option to do a postal vote? Or are you only allowed under certain situations?
I have only ever voted on the actual day at a booth so not sure how it works the other way around.

Oh, believe me cue, I'm no Pollyanna :^O If they say or do something stupid they deserve everything they get. I just really dislike the personal attacks that go on.

I think Gillard has caught the opp off guard. They seem to be spluttering all over the place this arvo. Christopher Pyne seemed livid and I've heard "it's in our DNA" by more people than ever. I hope they don't keep saying that all year.

personal attacks have a place in these discussions.. but they have to have some factual basis. being a woman is not grounds for attacks of this type, and that seems to be all they have . some of the stuff has been laughable 'look labor has a spin doctor '' derrr.. so do the libs. The carbon tax.. liberal policy .. until labor had the actual ticker to introduce it and suddenly it isn't ? it just goes on and on.. the MSM don't do their job.. which is to report 'news' it is not to help the opposition sway public opinion ..to be 'players' is an aspiration too many hacks hold and atempt to exercise.

Yes it does matter.. apparently it is a very important date on the Jewish calendar....
A few MP's are Jewish and it can hamper their election day campaign... I believe the Coalition have more Jewish MP's than the ALP...

I seriously hope that Liberal doesn't win the upcoming election. I can't believe I voted for them at the last one.

I will decide sometime in September who to vote for.
As an aside..... what has happened to the boats?

I haven't seen anything in the news to show that it is a big deal to the Jewish community?
