OK I'll admit it....I quite liked the Woolies Dominoes when I got a stack of them with my groceries, that I decided that for once I'd try and collect them. (Usually I don't bother hence the bits and pieces of Oz animals, Jamie's cards and goodness knows what else langushing in a plastic bag somewhere).
However I made it difficult for myself by not colleting the Disney characters but just the domino pips so I'd have a full set to play the traditional game. I managed to get a few from friends then I had to turn to eBay where I found more.
And now I'm down to just one more to collect. Only problem is, on eBay of course sellers are listing them by the characters. Only a few mention the backs. Thankfully some of them I have messaged checked their stock for me and I was able to buy from them....but that last darn domino is proving most elusive! I've emailed a few more sellers but no luck so far.
Is there anyone out there with a spare Double Five? Help!

Those dominoes were very popular and I thought they would have continued it for a bit longer. I collected them for my niece, though secretly I wanted to keep them for myself because they were so cute and clinky.
She was the same and ended up with one domino short of the full collection but Woolies put on a swap day that you could take in any doubles and swap it for the one you wanted, as long as someone else had handed one in. I was very lucky and when I asked the man running it how it worked he told me to find out which one she needs and if he had it he would give it to me, so I rang and found out and bingo!
Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if they do another such collection in the future as I know mums were going and spending money in Woolies just to add to their kids sets when normally they would shop elsewhere.

Back when I got out of the Navy, I went to work at a gas station evenings, while going to college during the day. They were always offering different promotions with the purchase of petrol, glasses, placemats, and the kicker was lunch bags.....8 of them with the smiley face on them. Then the gas shortage hit in '73, and stations didn't have to entice customers in......

I don't take any of those collectable grocery things, but I always ask the people around me in the queue if they do and tell the check out operator to give them to them.
Sometimes they even say thanks
