- LOL - How so - your words :  The traffic is virtually all Smiths way with just a few passing token comments

Standard tactic of the left. Take a few words out of context to reflect a completely different meaning to the original text. ( perfect example, the misrepresentation of  SCOMO's if you cant afford rent, buy a house comments )

Your ' few ' words :  Taken in context :

Not from what I,ve seen. The traffic is virtually all Smiths way with just a few passing token comments about the globally broadcast public ridicule and humiliation Smiths wife endured. Had Smith not reacted to the comments in the way he did, we wouldnt even be hearing about it.

And just another thought to highlight the hypocrisy and stupidity of the leftist dogma. Imagine for a moment it was Will Smiths wife who stepped onto the stage and slapped the host across the face in response to his comments. I suspect we would be having a very different conversation to the one we are having now.

Why - abuse is abuse.

Why - exactly.......... abuse is abuse, but I suspect that, had Jada Smith slapped the host, rather than Will smith, she would have been celebrated as a " strong woman " standing up for other woman with Alopecia Areata, not taking carp from some sad middle aged man who was trying to be funny at her expense etc. etc. Many here may not admit it, but you all know its true !

Hypocrisy .............. the constant failing of Political correctness and Leftist dogma.

That's simply your ' suspicion - however the media looked at it......................................

The Academy would be forced to apply the same sanctions that they will apply on April 18th - for Will.

And you are allowing mob rule mentality and blind unquestioning support for a deeply flawed social movement to distract you from presenting thoughtful, reasoned debate.

If jumping to conclusions was an Olympic sport, you would have a shelf full of gold medals.

Read my posts. Nowhere in any single one of them have I given any indication whatsoever of  which  side of the argument I favoured.

All I did was take you to task for using the affair as a pulpit from which to spout irrelevant vitriol against those  on the opposite side of the political divide to yourself.

As it happens I do have an opinion on the matter. Yesterday I read a comment on my Facebook page to the effect that King Rock's joke was  disgustingly inappropriate and Will Smith's reaction was a classic example of toxic masculinity.

I think that poster summed things up pretty well.

Re: The Oscars Slap

I work with a lady who has full body alopecia. Of course it would have been devastating for her 10 or so years ago when everything literally fell out over night. She had beautiful long blonde hair, and the most stunning long eyelashes. Her biggest complaint these days are people's assumptions. "Oh, you're having chemo, I'm so sorry. My brother lost all his hair when having chemo too. I hope it works for you". I told her to get a t-shirt made up "I'm not having chemo, I'm just bald". She liked that idea, so she did.

She makes jokes about it at times. She said she's saved a fortune on shampoo and hair dressers over the years. She does have a wig. Her sister and daughters donated their hair to create it. She only wears it if she's going to a function, like a wedding. She goes commando the rest of the time. Her kids laugh at her when she's got hair!

Despite her making jokes at times, I doubt she would have been impressed if she was publicly humiliated like that. Her husband would have got up and decked that dude too.

Perhaps you should take the time to read the thread and check your facts before attacking me. The following is the OP from david4430 ( unedited and in its entirety )  to which I have responded and addressed my comments on this issue.

" what do we think? was the joke worthy of the slap?

not in my view.

bad taste for sure.

something will smith could have addressed in a civilised manner.

no after thought sorry will cuy it, IMO

he must have the statue taken back

As you can see, david has clearly proposed an example of cancel culture in his OP. As both myself and others have noted, Smith's award for work in the movie industry in the previous year was a separate and previously determined issue to his conduct in response to the hosts insulting remarks on the evening and have nothing to do with each other.

I will say it one more time, just for you she-el, as your posts clearly illustrate have not bothered to read the thread before attacking me .....

A civilised society ( as david calls it in the OP ) has structures and jurisdictions in place to address and sanction incidents such as this including law enforcement agencies and the courts. It should be left to the appropriate authorities to deal with it in a responsible and proportionate way, not the noisy lynch mob of social media, cancel culture. Pandering to the online noise of lefty cancel culture proponents such as david and his OP is the direct opposite to a civilised society and more akin to the moronic village lynch mobs of centuries ago.

All up my posts have been directly on point and 100% relevant to the OP.

Yours on the other hand have simply been an excuse to attack me. .........So sad that personal, irrelevant attacks rather than intelligent debate is the best you can muster these days. You might have had it once she el, but you,ve completely lost it these days .

I,ve expressed my opinions about the OP's topic. I,m not getting dragged down into the gutter with the likes of you and one or two others who delight in hijacking threads and turning them into a quagmire of personal pile ons and group bullying.

I,m leaving you to your swamp of personal attacks ( rather than the intelligent discussion you could once muster ) on this thread.

Ok, Chameleon54โ€ฆโ€ฆ.. 3 things.

(1).  Does the apostrophe on your keyboard not work?   Iโ€™m (not I,m)    Itโ€™s (not it,s).

You make this error in every post you add to these boards! EVERY POST.   At first, I just accepted it was an error, and since then, I noted it is your traitโ€ฆ. but since you have taken time out to publicly point out she-elโ€™s error in bunt (burnt), then I will do the same for you. (As a matter of courtesy, of course ๐Ÿ˜Ž

(2). For the love of Godโ€ฆ. Take a Valium! Your posts read full of rage and discontent! You need to calm down, before you have a stroke!

(3) Stop watching Steve Hughes!  ๐Ÿ˜‰ If youโ€™re going to have a political rant, at least make it original!!
