The Returned on SBS2 this week.

Now this series sounds like one to watch:

"This eerie eight-part French thriller tackles the popular theme of the undead, but from an entirely rewired angle. In a small rural French community, the dead are returning from their graves. Those being resurrected are seemingly random, having died in different years and different circumstances. Men, women and children - each episode introduces a different returnee, and as the series progresses, their stories begin to intertwine - are returning home, confused, unscathed (there's no rotting flesh and they haven't aged), and unaware, at first, that they are dead. And unlike your standard-issue zombie, they're not out to kill or eat anyone. (Although they do seem to be always hungry). The Returned deals with the aftermath of these resurrections. How does life continue now for those they left behind? The ''new'' lives their loved ones have created for themselves - or in some cases, destroyed - are upended, their very understanding of life and death called into question."

Got all excited.  Thought it might be series 2. But no.    : - (

Here Stawka, found this for you, "A second season has been approved as well as an English language version by Paul Abbott (Shameless)" http://www.tvtonight.com.au/event/the-returned-les-revenants The 2nd season is to be released this year sometime. The Englsih speaking version may also be worth checking out, I dont mind Shameless. LOL.

Careful if you check it out Stawka, it's not to everyone's taste, but I like it. The British version at least, apparently there's a US version.

I really enjoyed this series. Series 2 is meant to be out end of this year.

I think I like it.. because of the subtitles - you have to keep an eye on the TV at all times.. specially since I do not speak French hehe.

The US is making a version of this as well. And another network is making a version also called the returned, but based on a book. (the french one is based on a movie from early 2000's).
