I don’t believe how partisan some people have become.
The picture shows a young child, purportedly Australian, holding up a trophy head handed to him by his father which once belonged on the shoulders of Syrian soldier killed by Islamic Fundamentalist, who want to make Syria part of a wider Islamic fundamentalist state.
Someone posts a list from a German Islamic cleric who it seems is attempting to justify this kind of behaviour on historical grounds. That is you have no right to judge us in light of what you have done.
Now the list contains some glaring errors of fact. I particularly like the 20,000,000 aboriginals killed since white settlement. Then there was the reference to World War 1. But hang on wasn’t the Ottoman Empire and combatant on the side of Germany, and weren’t they Muslims. But the crowning glory was the reference to slavery. Growing Glory because it was mostly Arab Muslims who harvested the crop rom central Africa, and then on sold then for live export, and whilst we are on the subject, though slavery is banned in every country, it is still practiced in some, and of those that fall within the ‘some’, most are Muslim.
Then someone else questions what religion has to with it. Let’s see. The head of a Syrian soldier being held up by the son of Australian Muslim who has gone to the Syria to engage in Holy War with the picture posted as a trophy shot on an Islamic fundamentalist web site. Doesn’t get much more religious than that
Then its every body’s fault, the Christians, the Jews, the Fascists, and even us because of our new proposed anti-terrorism laws, with an encore recital of the usual one dimensional ‘all Muslims are evil vs all whites are bigoted redneck racists ’ slights thrown in
But somewhere in all of this the real question is lost.
What sort of a father’s would take a boy into a war zone in the first place, and then get then (their son) to hold up someone else head as if it were a trophy? To me only one word springs to mind – ANIMAL of the lowers order - and be he Christians, Jew, Muslim, Hindu or Celtic Tree Hugger most certainly not the kind of man I would share bread

I can't look at that Nero, it would be too upsetting for me, but if it is true, then it just confirms what I already think about it all ..... I really dislike religion of any kind these days.

I can't argue with that either donnashuggy, it's all related to the darker side of the human condition ....

I can't imagine why anyone would want to see that.

what does religion have to do with this
which religion are you blaming for this
comments such as yours are demonising

It's an easy way to determine who and what is to blame.................... There are very many unstable people in the world who will use anything they can find to justify the bad they do............. including Religion.

Religion has a lot to do with it, it's a religious war.
Blame isn't the right word. Religions have fought each other forever in their quest to have what they consider their "true" gods and their religions rule, history has always shown that.
They demonise themselves.

Religions throughout history have been demonstrable in their quest to "convert".
Religion does have good and evil people, and that's the real problem as far as I'm concerned. Blame the evil on a "devil" and the "free will" thing, makes no difference.
As for those who use their religion of any form to abuse others, christians or otherwise, well yes, they are definitely unstable.

"what does religion have to do with this"
Apologies for not pointing out about where religion came into it, I read the article accompanying the picture while scrolling straight past the pictures which I can't look at, and it is clear why I mentioned how I dislike all religions and what they represent to me personally, not one in particular, although there are some I dislike more than others.
To use a child to do such a thing anyway, tells me how far some will go, it's sheer child abuse.
I don't speak for anyone else.
