Yes, that's part of it too Icy, but it is all part of a religious war in many ways.
In those particular lands It has all come from the "bible" .. viz ownership of the land that they say "god" gave one or the other and so it goes on and on AND ON, so does the killing for it.
We'll have to agree to disagree, hopefully agreeably.
Convert was a term I was referring to regarding religions who have names for those who don't comply, such as heathens, infidels, and in the past, as well as now, those who kill and maim those who won't and don't (convert).
Iraq is a prime example of one religion persecuting another right now, but there are many more.

It's just terrible what is going on right now, and it's so very sad all around.
I once was a christian, broke away from it, then started looking at it again, but since 2007, I want nothing to do with it at all ever again.
If I did consider it though, it would be from a great distance, and maybe it would be Buddhism or some other spiritual reasoning where it would be very personal and tacet.
It's okay Icy, it's such a huge convoluted, complex and enormously sad issue all around and you didn't get it wrong , it's all inclusive of the same thing xx
I'd better leave the thread though, because I find it really distressing, especially where children are concerned, being used like that, dying, innocent babies and people being displaced and murdered all for the sake of those horrendous ultimately meaningless differences ....
