Prime Minister Julia Gillard's partner, Tim Mathieson, has made a joke about Asian women and prostate examinations during a speech at The Lodge.
The remark was made during a reception in honour of the Prime Minister's XI cricket match.
Mr Mathieson is a men's health ambassador and was encouraging the crowd to get prostate checks.
He then suggested men should look for a small, female, Asian doctor to perform the examination.
"We can get a blood test for it, but the digital examination is the only true way to get a correct reading on your prostate, so make sure you go and do that, and perhaps look for a small, Asian, female doctor is probably the best way," he said.

Nero, you and your friend seem to have a fascination with these items. Is your personal life lacking in some way? Or is that a given?

Why?
Is it not possible that he went into the relationship with his eyes open?
You say you're not sexist and yet can't seem to resist having a dig at women.
freaky you seam obsessed with tring to make me out to be some one to dispise, is this because you hate men who have an opinion or just men in general.?
beleive it not i dont realy care , but in my opinion there is very little that ether sex can not do , if they are willing to put the work in to achieve it.
as to the prime minister yes i have a major problem with her, in my opinion she has done nothing in the best interest of the country as a whole, all her discisions are about cementing her position in history so when she go's she can stand there and say i did this first & i made that first, even those things that are worth while are done not with the right thing in mind but all about what it does for her, and that makes her bad for the country

If humour gets the issue more publicity and helps to make men more comfortable about something awkward and embarrassing then good on you Tim. He didn't quite nail the wit of Prince Phillip though.

Ha ha ha.
No, calling you out on sexest comments is not calling you someone to despise, although some of your comments about women are rather disgusting at times.
Classic deflective comments like "is this because you hate men?" just prove the point.
No, I do not hate men, nor have I ever suggested anything of the sort.
Picking up on sexism in media, conversation and politics is not hating men.

Must be wearing a blindfold.
Not sure if it's just Labor or the combination of female leader and labor.
To claim all Labor people are only in it for themselves and all LNPs are honest and in it for the country is really silly thinking, yet it is a common claim these days.
I would like to see this gov win because I like the programs they have started and would like to see the NDIS and Gonski changes more established before change of gov, not to mention the NBN will be wrecked and we'll wait for years to restart it if LNP get in. That would be a tragedy for the rural/regional areas.

well I spoke with a man that had the tests done not that long ago and he was told that they now use blood tests and ultrasound as a finger can do damage.....
Timmy's joke was a mix of bad timing and ill informed..... if Abbott said this he would be crucified... there is double standard...
