MAVERICK LNP backbencher Jason Woodforth will call on his parliamentary colleagues to "open their minds" and allow a medicinal cannabis trial in Queensland. The Nudgee MP, who famously lobbied the party room to rid the state's water supplies of fluoride said he would use the first party room meeting back, expected to be held on February 10, to put his case."I will be lobbying for a trial," Mr Woodforth said. "It's time we opened up our minds and listened and did something about it."Bodybuilding MP advocates eating naked in front of mirrorMr Woodforth said he was moved to take a stand after reading the story of epileptic eight-year-old Tara O'Connell's recovery in The Sunday Mail.Would you support a medicinal cannabis trial? Tell us below.Doctors had told Tara's family she would be lucky to make it to the age of nine but her mother Cheri said her health improved dramatically after Tara was treated with medicinal cannabis sourced from Nimbin. The family is now treating Tara's older brother Sean's epilepsy using the liquid from of medicinal cannabis as well.Mr Woodforth said he not advocating to legalise cannabis but rather to trial the use of a medicinal version like the one used by the O'Connell family.Eight-year-old Tara O'Connell administers medical cannabis to treat her epilepsy. Picture: News Limited. Source: News Limited"What I wasn't aware of ... is that there's two types of cannabis. There's the medicinal and there's the bit that gets you high," he said."The people who know about it don't want the high. They want the medicinal because they know what it does. Let's explore this."Mr Woodforth said he was incensed the Federal Health Department had issued a response highlighting the illegality of cannabis rather than one saying they would investigate Tara O'Connell's recovery further."Why aren't we saying ... let's have a look at this, let's explore, let's research," he said. "But no, we just want to go and shoot it down. This madness has to stop. We can't just sit on our hands and say 'no, it's a fluke" because its not. There's lots of incidents in the US where people have been cured of things like cancer. As politicians we need to have an open mind and listen. Too often we don't."A spokeswoman for Health Minister Lawrence Springborg said the Minister was not considering such a trial but Mr Woodforth said he would lobby his colleagues in a bid to change their minds. He said he also planned to lobby the LNP party room to consider a referendum on daylight saving.

Well what a number Hearst Dupont and Anslinger have managed to perpetrate amongst
some of the blue rinse set.
Greed started the charade and ignorance continues to feed its black heart.
Cannabis until the late 19th century was the 3rd most prescribed drug in existance surpassed by only opium and alcohol.
Dosages of cannabis given daily to men women, pregnant women and children
historically are about the same amount an "addict" would use in a month so
where are all the babbling schizoids recorded in history?
Why is it that this mammoth universal use of huge amounts of cannabis by current standards did not send the whole world madder than the mad hatters tea party ???
Why is it that Amsterdam is not chock a block full of mental institutions given that the strongest synthesised pot in the world is served legally in coffee shops ??
Mental health should be the growth industry if the medical pundits are to be
believed.....
Let alone smoking weed we cannot even eat its derivatives unlike every other country in
the world except New Zealand.
Google the omega 3 and omega 6 oil symmetry that exists in hemp.
Look at the benefits (without smoking it) that arthritis patients that currently are
prescibed CELEBREX could look forward to.
Google the side effects of CELEBREX
Google the profits made from CELEBREX
I bet many take CELEBREX on this forum
Who would rather have some Hemp seeds on their cereal as opposed to taking
celebrex daily??
Why is that???
What is the big deal with the reinclusion of Hemp into our diet??
Whose ends are our (collective) political representatives really serving??
rhetorical question... the drug companies of course. The drugs that cannabis could safely replace really really really scares big pharma.
IMO a little bit like the way that linking tobacco with cancer led the tobacco companies to
enlist doctors and researchers "help" for decades to refute the claims.
Google the claims made by bought medical professionals re cigarette smoking in the
40's 50's and 60's. Some of their claims are reprehensible

Australian citizens have, throughout history, survived numerous droughts by reliance upon hemp to prevent starvation and malnutrition.
The seeds formed their source of protein and the leaves served as roughage (Frazier, 1972). The seeds can also be ground and mixed with water to from a highly nutritious gruel/porridge.
The plant has even been used in hospitals to replenish the under-nourished and for treatment of other various ailments. For more information of the healing properties of hemp, please visit Clearspring (www.clearspring.co.uk) for instance claim in an advertisement that :
'Hemp oil comes from one of the oldest cultivated plants and has followed civilizations as they moved around the globe. Jute and hemp fibres were the mainstay of many cultures (History) ... Since the 1930s, hemp oil has been regarded as a healing oil'.
Biona, suppliers of organic hemp seeds to Health food stores claim that their seeds are 'steamed to prevent germination ... without further concern from the authorities' and vouching that they are 'protecting the environment and protecting your health.' Biona highlight the the crop is also 'very fruitful'.
Hemp also grows well on marginal lands, being particularly suited to rural Third World countries suffering famine due to environmental and developmental problems.

GREEED
http://bettergiants.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/us-and-them-ii-liars-damned-liars-and-harry-anslinger/
Rumour has it that Anslinger went to California in 1933 to speak to William Randolph ‘Citizen Kane’ Hearst, and that their unholy alliance was a genuine conspiracy (extreme versions include Mellon in the plot, presumeably because he was Anslinger’s father-in-law).
I have never found useful evidence that this actually happened, but the historical record would have looked no different if it had.
What we know for sure is that from some time in 1932 until the eventual Congressional hearings in 1937, Harry Anslinger campaigned relentlessly against a drug no-one else was interested in.
Until W. R. Hearst employed his vast and dominant media empire in a propaganda campaign that is very nearly unmatched in American history.

So on one side we have Dupont inventing and using petrochemical plastic and on the other side we have Ford
experimenting with cellular plastic......... Dupont, Hearst and eventually Anslinger won out
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DuPont
Automotive investments: 1914
In 1914, Pierre S. du Pont invested in the fledgling automobile industry, buying stock of General Motors (GM). The following year he was invited to sit on GM's board of directors and would eventually be appointed the company's chairman.
The DuPont company would assist the struggling automobile company further with a $25 million purchase of GM stock.
In 1920, Pierre S. du Pont was elected president of General Motors. Under du Pont's guidance, GM became the number one automobile company in the world.
However, in 1957, because of DuPont's influence within GM, further action under the Clayton Antitrust Act forced DuPont to divest itself of its shares of General Motors.
Major breakthroughs: 1920s-1930s

In the 1920s, DuPont continued its emphasis on materials science, hiring Wallace Carothers to work on polymers in 1928. Carothers invented neoprene, a synthetic rubber;[8] the first polyester superpolymer; and, in 1935, nylon. The invention of Teflon followed a few years later.
DuPont introduced phenothiazine as an insecticide in 1935.

Henry Ford
In the 1910s Henry Ford experimented with using agricultural materials in the manufacture of automobiles. Ford was partly motivated by a desire to find nonfood applications for agricultural surpluses, which existed then as they do now. He tried out many agricultural crops, including wheat.
In the following few years, uses were found for soy oil in automobile paints and enamels, and in the production of glycerol for shock absorbers. Coil cases for the 1915 Model T Ford were made from a wheat gluten resin reinforced with asbestos fibres.
Eventually he focused on soybeans, and in the 1920s began promoting soybean products at every opportunity. He recruited Robert Boyer, a young chemist, to lead the research.
In the following few years, uses were found for soy oil in automobile paints and enamels, in rubber substitutes, and in the production of glycerol for shock absorbers. Viscous solutions of soy protein were extruded and "set" in formaldehyde bath to form fibers for upholstery cloth. But Ford's special interest was in converting soy meal into plastics.
Soy meal is what is left after soy-beans are crushed or ground into flakes and the soy oil extracted with a hydrocarbon solvent. Soy meal is about 50 percent protein and 50 percent carbohydrate- mainly cellulose.
The compositions of Ford's soy plastics, and the methods of their processing, evolved over time and varied according to the application.
In general the resin core was made of soy meal reacted with formaldehyde to produce cross-linked protein (reminiscent of casein plastics and animal horn), but for added strength and resistance to moisture, phenol or urea was cocondensed with the protein.
The resulting resin was part phenol formaldehyde (or urea formaldehyde) and part cross-linked soy protein; the soy meal was not merely a filler.
Ford, a master at generating publicity, exhibited the prototype with great fanfare in 1941. But then, by late 1941, Ford
no longer publicized the "plastic car".
The reasons for this are unknown, but his media contacts, the strength of the DuPont organisation and World War II are likely to have played a role.
Also, technology was not yet well developed and limited options. Plastics have become more common, but plastics from renewable resources got sidetracked.
This is where Hemp Plastics have continued with research projects and collaborations to re-visit and re-new the use of plant based plastics.

shame shame shame Tony's tincture has been tested by the NSW health authority and has been certified to contain no prohibited drugs.
The base product however is highly illegal and full of THC. See letter below
http://www.mullawaysmedicalcannabis.com.au/nswgovta.html
Tony's non phsycotropic and phsychotropic tinctures comparemore than favourably to big pharmas sativex.... The problem is the big hit that Big pharmas bottom line would take.
prohibition is all to do with money.... The money that the black market makes reinforced by the profit in the "white" market of drugs at pharmacies

POSSIBLE side effects of celebrex, as in any drug can have side effects but most don't, most people have no problem.
I have none.
Possible side effects of Hemp?

welll lucky for you... not so lucky for the ones that sparked the advice below from the US FDA
....Easier to find the goods on Celebrex methinks and compare it to Tony Bowers cleverman strain as tested by the
NSW police department and the NSW Dept of health as non phsycoactive.
Tony Bowers process using the Cleverman strain removes any trace of the 3 psychoactive subtsances contained in cannabis.... the side effects of his strain taken orally by tincture may include...the munchee's....
greed.... falsification of celebrex/Vioxx drug trials doctor pleads guilty. See the link to that and the US FDA website
regarding Vioxx and celebrex

COX-2 Selective (includes Bextra, Celebrex, and Vioxx) and Non-Selective Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
[4/7/2005] The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued supplemental request letters to sponsors of all non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) requesting that they make labeling changes to their products. These letters include recommended proposed labeling for both the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) NSAIDs and a medication guide for the entire class of prescription products.
All sponsors of marketed prescription Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), including Celebrex (celecoxib), a COX-2 selective NSAID, have been asked to revise the labeling (package insert) for their products to include a boxed warning, highlighting the potential for increased risk of cardiovascular (CV) events and the well described, serious, potential life-threatening gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding associated with their use.
The Celebrex labeling will, in addition to the general labeling that will apply to all NSAIDs, also contain safety data from long-term treatment trials with celecoxib.
Tony Bowers process using the Cleverman strain removes any trace of the 3 psychoactive subtsances contained in cannabis.... the side effects of his strain taken orally by tincture may include...the munchee's....
Tony has appeared on Today tonight and other news shows numerous times. His website, clinical trial and attempts to have his tuincture legalized has been ongoing for at least 5 years.
He is of course not the only one. The plain fact remains that the most prescribed medicine pre 20th century opium was accepted and adapted by ther mainstream medical society without clinical trial yet the third most prescibed medicine pre 20th century needs billions spent to prove itself for medicinal personal use. That imo is a farcical hypocritical situation. Illegal clinical trials are underway in your town right now. The absence of seizures in young children witnessed by various youtube clips is astounding. Now that cannabis is legalized in the US people are not so afraid to post their "clinical trials" online.

Completely different molecule structure
The hemp plant contains over 450 different substances, only three of which are responsible for its intoxicating effect. They activate the two receptors in the body CB1 and CB2. Whilst the CB1 receptor in the central nervous system influences perception, the CB2 receptor in the tissue plays a crucial role in inhibiting inflammation. If the receptor is activated, the cell releases fewer pro-inflammatory signal substances, or cytokines. The scientists have now discovered that the substance beta-carophyllene, which composes between 12 and 35 percent of the cannabis plant’s essential oil, activates the CB2 receptor selectively.
Unlike the three psychoactive substances, however, beta-carophyllene does not latch onto the CB1 receptor and consequently does not trigger the intoxicating effect. “Due to the various effects of cannabis, we had suspected for quite some time that other substances could come into play besides the psychoactive ones”, explains Jürg Gertsch from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at ETH Zurich. “However, astonishingly we didn’t know what substances these were until now.”
Gertsch finds it remarkable that beta-carophyllene has a very different molecule structure to that of the classical cannabinoids. “This is presumably why no one realized that the substance can also activate the CB2 receptor.” The scientists were not only able to prove that beta-carophyllene binds with the CB2 receptor in vitro but also in animal tests, where they treated mice that were suffering from an inflammatory swelling on their paws with orally administered doses of the substance. The swelling declined in up to 70 percent of the animals, even for deep doses. For mice lacking the gene for the CB2 receptor, however, the substance did not make an impact.
Remove the 3 stoning ingredients and what side effects would you expect
