Totally p off with Jack Russell Terrier

We went out for 30 mins and stupidly left dog inside. Came back and he has managed the following

A tennis ball in minute pieces all over OH study

Chomped his way through the head phone wires

Stripped the fabric off my make up case (a hanging offense)X-(

Chewed through the strap on a silk top

Very neatly chewed out the crotch of my new swimmers.:_|

He is completely manic today for some reason, don't know if it is because he has been in because of the heat.

OH has suggesting dropping him over the back fence of the RSPCA with a note.

Is he a new arrival, young?

Jackies are very high energy little dogs and get

bored witless easily.  Does he get plenty of regular  exercise?

If it's really too hot to take him out then try him with a kong that

is filled with treats that he has to really concentrate on getting out.

A big meaty bone?

Probably Others will have other suggestions to keep him occupied.

I hope you weren't seroius about dumping him at the RSPCA with a note?.;-)

As punishments, I would dress him in your chewed swimmers, and take him shopping

Mum used to have a little poodle who would chew the crotch out of jeans and undles.

She would also open handbags by pushing the zip with her nose and take out hankies and suck on them.

And she loved anything the colour red and would take anything red.  She had a red stuffed toy snake and would sit with that in her mouth and guard it and carry it about.

Give the dog a treat filled kong, or what about the hose - will the dog chase water out of the hose and cool off that way and burn up some energy

bright.ton42. We rehomed him last May after nearly 40 years of labs. Usually he goes for several walks a day and has a regular socialising session at the local kennels. But the heat has been very high, so no exercise for the past few days. Just joking about the RSPCA, although not sure if Husband is of the same view just now.

Jean good for you.  It's lovely to hear about dogs being rehomed.  and given a loving

new home.

Yep I know how they can make us tear our hair though.    :^O

Jean, I feel your pain, I really do.

Four of our dogs are all around the 18 month old mark. Your chewed list is a daily occurrence for us. Patiently waiting for our third replacement foxtel remote to arrive in the post, trying to find a replacement one for the TV itself and the top half of OH's mobile phone screen doesn't work but is artistically decorated with teeth marks.

Knickers from the dirty washing basket are regularly found strewn across the property (embarrassing when one gets unexpected visitors), I've had to bin umpteen bras and singlet tops with one strap chewed through.

11 years ago and again 8 years ago we had two pups together (now sensible adult dogs) and went through the same thing. Obviously memory dulls all pain, I swore at the time I would never have two pups together again, I held my word, we got FOUR pups together.
