For those interested, I include a link to a United Church of God site which very clearly tells of the history of the adoption of the Trinity Belief. It states what I have believed all along - that the doctrine IS NOT BIBLICAL and that ..... well, you can read for yourself.

I'm not going to argue with you lot but take note of the above.
There is little gained in taking one little section of scripture to disprove an overall truth which has many obvious references to the truth trying to be disproved.
Take scripture as a whole and ask for the Spirits help to understand it.
And as He is God, He is able to help.
Cheers
You see, you missed the whole point of this thread - The Spirit IS NOT GOD.
I think you may have missed mine

are you saying I'm unlearned and unstable? I resemble that. My muver brung me up in a stable and learned me all sorts o fings
The TRINITY IS A LIE.

I tried to post this before - it wouldn't allow it - try again....
I found a site that says exactly what I have been trying to say ... I have never heard of the church before .. but it makes a lot of sense

Hahaha
Youve still got your sense of humour any rate.....
I think another version says "untaught and ill-established"
I wasn't exactly applying it to you but dont think that arguing over scriptures in this way is going to help when christianity has so much more to offer in peace and enjoyment with our links and communion with God.

They want to argue the fine points of a doctrine, but I'd like to hear their arguments about how the major points of that doctrine can be applied to modern day society.
Does it matter if Jesus is God or if he is merely Santa's little helper, when self-proclaimed Christians step over each other to try and snatch the crust out of the mouths of the starving, all in the pursuit of Profits?
They talk about trash, and ignore the important issues of what their religion teaches.
What would Jesus do? he'd smack them in the mouth and tell them to pay attention.
on 12-11-2014 10:23 PM
Hahaha. Not sure if He would do that yet.....in a coming day he's gonna belt 'em round a bit.
But hey, Gods not with the big churches anymore.
See what Jesus said to the woman in John 4!
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Do the big mainstream churches worship Him in spirit and in truth....????
Hardly.
Which is sad. And its hard to convince an unbeleiving generation that Christianity is right as there has been so many wars over "religion" and so much corruption in churches that they blame Christianity which is not the case but man's greed and avarice and lust that has tarred "religion"
Not so Christianity.

Listen to what they say . . . then look at what they do.
This is one of the main criticisms which Islam offers against the West. They think we are hypocrites, and really, in this at least, they are correct.

I agree. That's why it's important to dig out the truth and not just follow the herd.
I am talking about such mainstream teachings as Trinity, Hell, Immortal soul and a few others
- NOT whether Jesus was crusified on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday - of course that would be good to know,
but, it's not going to change anything about worship, whereas WHO GOD AND JESUS REALLY ARE CHANGES EVERYTHING.
even TRBAG calls this 'little things' - as in 'if you can't get the little things right'

1 Cor 8:
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
1 Father and 1 Lord = 2

dont christians pray in the name of the father
the son and the holy spirit ????
Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
