Political threads have their place in social media but I do not think 'Community Spirit' is the place.
The vitriol and nastiness some of these threads engender, leading to claims of interpersonal posts, removal of posts and frequent locking of threads all damage any Community Spirit which previously existed.
Freedom of speech is to be applauded but the current rash of political threads is 'infecting' the spirit of the Community Spirit board.
Does anyone agree with me?
Would anyone else be prepared to communicate with the moderators requesting consideration of this suggestion?
I have.

The meaning is the same and people reading know what is being said.I will need to practice my new google skills and find the answer lol
My ex local member was having a chat about those words a few days ago, hence the chuckle 😄

Yes, I do believe you to be 100% correct.

That happens occasionally.
If it came to a vote as to whether political threads have its own board, I'd vote "no".

Couldn't be bothered reading all the way through - sorry - (that is how I am with Poli Threads), so if this idea has been suggested, my humblest apologies - if not....
here is a BRILLIANT idea.....
Start a political GROUP.
Make it public, so any one interested can join in, but if someone joins in just to be a tool, the Group administrator can block them.
Whoever starts the group really should be 'as neutral as possible' otherwise people will be kicked out left, right, (pardon the pun) and centre for a difference of opinion which would negate the entire reason for the group.
If those who wish to post are sincerely interested in opinions, and letting other 'party types' have a say, it could work well...........
or it could go to hell in handbasket....LOL
just a thought.

Yes Bluecat, I am just amazed at what has been left ie; considered OK for these boards.
Wow, I am changing my pic sadly to a more appropriate one for some.
