WITH DIGNITY @ STARBUCKS

What dignity these two showed when arrested for just "sitting" at Starbucks waiting for their friend to arrive.

Shame on the employee who was scared and reported them for sitting at a table.

Re: WITH DIGNITY @ STARBUCKS

In the USA, the SUPREME COURT has ruled its ok for police to lie.

so they are covered for those things they do to get a confession, like telling someone their buddy is in the next room spilling the beans on them, when actually in the next room their buddy is being told his buddy is in the next room spilling the beans on him.

but once you say its ok to tell lies, it gets abused, now the US police cant remember whats truth and whats lies.

our systems quiet different i believe, not saying lies are not told but i doubt a chief would go on camera and lie.

Luckily i have not had to deal with police in any way, i hope i never have to.

I'm not silly enough to think we dont have bad police in our system.

ive seen stories on bent cops.

Re: WITH DIGNITY @ STARBUCKS

A Starbucks spokeswoman said on Tuesday (local time) that the employee no longer works at the store, but declined to give further details.

Good to read that bit.

Loved the protest sign that says   'Too little, too latte'

Yes, now for those police officers.............

Re: WITH DIGNITY @ STARBUCKS

I kind of wish that the employee who did that wasn't sacked though .. Smiley Sad    It might have been more productive and meaningful if a little more education was offered instead and help put things on a better pathway for her future.

As for the police officers, that's a different kettle of fish, they should have known better and not started such an  appalling situation to develop and continue the way it did, they are supposed to be trained and competent in their job, which shouldn't include behaving like aggressive bulls.

Tas, after reading other news reports, it looks like the employee was moved to another

Starbucks, for fear of what would happen at that particular store.

Re: WITH DIGNITY @ STARBUCKS

You're such a forgiving person, Tas.

Personally, I wouldn't have been, given the situation.

I was ropable just reading about it.

I'm quick to fire up at times.
