I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.
I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣
Well, not a bad day overall for me today as I have had time to do them all, which doesn't always happen.
Now wordle. I guessed the pattern and went for it after my first try but jumped the wrong way out of a couple of possibilities. Still, I was happy with getting it in 3.

Next to octordle and I decided to double check things today instead of rushing in like a bull at a gate, as my mum used to say.
I went okay at the start. Began solving from turn 3. But for turn 8, I decided I really needed another eliminator as I had way too many possibilities for words 2, 6 & 8.
I used wombs. If I could have added a p in there too, I would have!
It did help a lot but even so, I was still left with 2 or 3 possiblities for 2 & 8. I went with the wrong ones both times. I thought #8 might be sort of trick one, using a letter already out and for #2, I went with a word in your honour as I think you have used it before as an eliminator. If you use it today, you'll almost have it in one. 😄
I did wordle yesterday but on my phone and doing fancy stuff like cut and paste & logging into ebay on my phone just stresses me, so I didn't. But I got all the letters (one green I think) after my usual 2 openers and so got the word in 3. Word was noise.
Then this was the result today.

I am thinking I might be better off to try different starters tomorrow as they may be after a big change of letters. But who knows!
