WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Nah, never be ashamed, these are just games. Ashamed is quite the wrong word. Disappointed is what you are!😅

Once when I was in Year 7 (which we called Form 1 back in my day) our teacher told us something after a terrible maths test most people failed. She said to apply the 5 year rule to it. If it wouldn't be affecting your life in 5 years, if you will have forgotten it by then, then it isn't of major importance so don't overly worry about it. 😁 Just take what you can learn from it and move on.

Look at me, usually way into the 60s or 70s but still plugging away and having fun.

Today's wordle, I was happy with because I didn't have a great start.

I used STARE as my starter. It was a good choice, and based on the result, I decided to use COUGH as my eliminator.

What a superb eliminator it was! I could only think of two possibilities, and I chose the correct one.

After my second turn, I knew where the second yellow probably went and had to run through the left over letters to fill the gaps.

The answer was the first combo that made sense. Bot tells me there was a second possibility and it is a well known word too. I thought, "Of course!" when I saw it in Bot's analysis, but it just had not occurred to me.

I also had a laugh because Bot told me my second eliminator was okay but crypt would have been better.😄

Crypt is a word I sometimes use as eliminator but usually after my usual.

Actually, I think the info I got from my second word was more crucial & narrowed it down for me (personally) more than crypt would have at that point.
