WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I was almost tempted to go off course and try something different for turn 2 but I am glad I didn't as I was not expecting U to be in the mix.
After that, I could not think of many possibilities. The first word to pop into mind was vague but I could see that was wrong. So maybe gauge or gauze? tried gauze and had to rethink it.

Not my best day.

I actually had a feeling for #6 after my second turn but wasn't sure so tried a 3rd eliminator.

Later on I made a stupid mistake on #1 (tried beach when I had already eliminated C for that word on turn 3)

so all in all, I deserved the score I got.

My usual starter is delivering a few uninspiring results of late. Yet switching isn’t going to gain me anything in the long run…

It’s the eliminator that rewards switching around. My eliminator ended up ruling out all possible contenders save two.

I went off track with this on my second turn (smile instead of shout). I was pretty sure the ending would be ILE. 

In hindsight, I may have been just as well off, if not better, had I stuck to shout as it would have given me that much needed U.

I started with my usual 2 words.

If I don't, I find myself having to concentrate 100% harder because as I consider possibilities, my mind assumes the letters SHOUT have been out, I tend to forget they are still in play.

I made a mistake on my 4rh turn (wrath instead of watch)

Took me a while to figure out what #4 could be but it was worth trying as I was stuck on #6, had been eliminating possibilities all along the way-witch got crossed off very early, then ditch and I never seriously considered they would use the B word. pitch was last off my list, that still left Hitch and titch but I thought hitch more likely.
