WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Oh boy, the score suffers a major hit whenever I use another eliminator early in the piece but I couldn't see my way clear without it. #1, 2 & 7 in particular, I wanted to test some letters. I am satisfied it was the best I could work out today.

I am glad I didn't jump in too early with #4 as my first instinct was it was probably QUICK.

The starter narrowed down the possible words before we go further by even a whisker. I had to be very careful with my eliminator to take advantage of that.

I had a bad start.

So then I tried the old 2/4 vowel placement. Tumor. Awful but sometimes we just have to run with the Americanisms.
After that, I saw what it had to be. Our old friend turbo.

This was going okay for a while. I did take a slight risk with #8, tribe, but either B or C was going go towards helping sort out #5 anyway.

But about half way down, I couldn't see my way clear without using an eliminator (wavey), as I was torn betweem swoon/spoon, shall/shawl, crave/craze & I had no idea about #2 so eliminating any extra letters would help.

I was going okay till near the end when I made a mistake on #1. It usually is juror, they like that word, for some reason, so I made a bad call there.

I wouldn't normally bother showing the rescue version but today's made me laugh, it had a wonderful sense of symmetry.

I didn't even bother looking along the line to see if there were any easier ones to solve (which is actually a failing of mine, where I often fall down)

But if you did it today, was yours the same order?
