WALEED ALY GRILLED MALCOLM TURNBULL OVER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FUNDING
Waleed Aly's blistering editorial on the level of funding and attention the Government pays to the prevention and support of Domestic Violence in Australia was a sobering and extremely important in-depth look at the issue - the likes of which is rarely seen on Australian broadcast television, much less the free-to-air networks.
Mr Aly lists his religion as sunni muslim.
The Qur'an:
Qur'an (4:34) - "Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great." Contemporary translations sometimes water down this word, but it is the same one used in verse 8:12 and clearly means 'to strike'.
Qur'an (38:44) - "And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath..." Allah telling Job to beat his wife
Next week The Project will feature a special studio guest. Ivan Milat will talk about his intention to start up a company that takes back-packers on guided tours of the Bangalo State Forest.

I also noticed this on Google news today: "Domestic violence in Victoria has gone 'beyond crisis point' and MPs trying to stamp it out still have no comprehensive measure to tell them what work." - See more at: http://www.skynews.com.au/news/national/2015/05/17/vic-plan-to-measure-violence--crisis-.html#sthash...
In view of this, would you not agree that anyone who abhors violence towards women has not only a moral right, but a moral duty, to speak out against it - or do you still maintain that obligation only applies to everyone except Muslims.
Anyone can speak out against domestic violence. However if that person should have a user manual that permits him to beat his wife he or she lacks any credibility. Would you take singing lessons from Willie Nelson? Would you sit down and listen to a lecture about 'How I Respect Women' delivered by Hugh Hefner? Some people can not be believed no matter the cicumstances.

Why do you keep insisting that Waleed Aly has a user manual?
When did humans start being issued with a user manual? Is it issued at birth or some time later in life?
Is every human born issued with a user manual?
How do you know what Waleed Aly's user manual contains?

Gee, that's a tough one glee. Let's see if Google is working:
The Qur'an:

Qur'an (38:44) - "And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath..." Allah telling Job to beat his wife (Tafsir).
Muslim (4:2127) - Muhammad struck his favorite wife, Aisha, in the chest one evening when she left the house without his permission. Aisha narrates, "He struck me on the chest which caused me pain."
Muslim (9:3506) - Muhammad's father-in-laws (Abu Bakr and Umar) amused him byslapping his wives (Aisha and Hafsa) for annoying him. According to the Hadith, the prophet of Islam laughed upon hearing this.

So you're basing your comments on assumptions you have made without any facts about Aly included.
Do you pull bits out of ancient texts to accuse Christians or Jews of the following a user manual that states they should beat or kill their wives?

Every professing Christian or Jew has a 'user manual' that permits and even prescribes violence against women.
Hugh Hefner has demonstrated by his own behaviour that he has no respect for women.
Has Waleed Aly ever demonstrated by his own behaviour that he has no respect for women?

What user manual were those 37 men who have beaten their wives to death so far this year used?
One appears to have been a middle eastern couple so lets assume they were muslim. We'll discount him then shallwe?
But what about the other 36?

she-el - I marvel at your persistence in the face of absolute stupidity.

Someone said in another thread that "Australia is predominantly Christian" (which I disagree with BTW), so it follows that their manual was probably the bible.
