Migraines: Are they triggered by weather changes? - Mayo Clinic

I always knew about hayfever of course (my son gets it badly) but hadn't thought of migraines.

Up till very recent years, I could boast that I never (or very rarely) got headaches.

One of my daughters though gets occasional migraines.

But over the last few years, I too have had the occasional migraine. Last one though was, I think, with covid.

The day after it, I remember having visual effects that made it hard to clearly see the computer screen at times when I was trying to do my wordle etc. It was really annoying.

It's another overcast day here at the moment but currently not raining.

I dread to think how much lettuces will cost again. Plus a lot of other things.

Apart from the grief it is causing lots of people, all this flooding could cause havoc with the economy too.

Yes... Apart from the obvious implications (prices going up etc.), many tourists are not going to come until the weather allows them to actually do something...

Re: Weather - Eastern States: Good luck everyone

Well, we got the rain overnight. Rd to work blocked off in two places, and I drove home unaware of it yesterday morning @0730hrs  with signs saying rd was still open. By 9am, rd was closed.  I followed another car through the water (this is not flowing water, it is water over the rd from paddocks that flooded from the near by river, still dangerous though and it damn scares the living breath out of me)  Car behind me really struggled through the 2nd flooded area, smaller car, I waited at the end of it for them, just in case but not sure what the hell I could have done, if theyโ€™d broken down in the middle as I sure as hell wasnโ€™t going back in!  Probably phone SES.

Anyway, 3 days off now. Thank Goodness ๐Ÿ™. Hopefully, all the water will be receded before I return.

BUTโ€ฆ. The extra water is sitting on my front yard like a quagmire ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Absolutely terrible for the folk at Forbes ๐Ÿ˜”

This is their 3rd flood in 12mths, but this is the worst yet.

Has affected a lot of farmers and local businessesโ€ฆ.. and the locals.

Re: Weather - Eastern States: Good luck everyone

Now that October is behind us, I think we can hope that a lot of the wet weather or at least consistently wet weather is behind us. If we can just get a stretch of mild, sunny days some of the water will start to dry up, with any luck.

It won't help those flooded out but it would make the clean up easier. It seems to be fires or floods the last few years when what we'd all like is a happy medium.

Re: Weather - Eastern States: Good luck everyone

Just to add to the news. Bathurst, Lithgow, Blayney and Oberon are without gas due to a pipe line breakage and being flooded.

This happened about 10pm Wednesday.

Parts of Bathurst have had their gas returned.... the rest of us are waiting . Depending on who's doing the press releases, it could be a couple of days to a couple of weeks without cooking, heating and hot water.

Lithgow, the waiting time is up to 4 weeks. Porta showers have been put up at the showground.

Wish us luck! I just hope the rain doesn't return.

Re: Weather - Eastern States: Good luck everyone

Itโ€™s progressively worse with this sort of repeated flooding because of the ground already being wet, so it canโ€™t soak up the rain.

I wholeheartedly wish and hope and pray that the deluges of rain will stop from now on and that the affected areas can begin to recover.
