Haha sort of Lloyd.  He was 10 days late but it felt like another month.

This was my grandparent's home. It is more than fifty years since my grandfather passed away, and the home is now derelict. When I look at the photo I don't see the decay, I see the Black Boy climbing rose that grew on the side fence, the huge patch of violets beside the gate. The family Christmas gatherings, and running around and playing with all my cousins (some of whom have passed away now.)

Were they going to uni or business college do you know?  I ask, due to them having suitcases.

The doll - takes me to the 70's, the cigarette case was mums, the key holder - nans (both mine now), and when I look at the print I am nostalgic for where I want to be.

We too, had a blackboy rose  - those thorns were big!  We also had violets near the old tank stand. Violets are special to me as they were my weekly gift when I was in hospital at age 4-5.  I have always taken a "runner" of them wherever I moved, to this day.

The perfume of the blackboy is something you never forget. Yes they are spiky though. ๐Ÿ™‚  Whenever I smell violets it takes me right back to my grandmother's garden.

Oh Boris, is that a Blythe doll?  Not my era, but I would like one of them.
