A patient in northern China has died of the plague in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region - the second death from the disease in the last week.
The victim died from multiple organ failure in a case of the bubonic plague on Friday, the Bayannao'er city health commission said on its website.
This comes after China's Inner Mongolia region saw another death from the plague in Baotou last week, leading the city to issue level-three epidemic warnings.
Following Friday's death in Bayannao'er, or Bayannur, the area where the deceased lived has been sealed off, the commission confirmed.
What!?
COVID not killing us off fast enough?

Really? So enlighten us - which were the previous 'unleashings' and who unleashed this one?
In the past? Measles, smallpox, venereal disease, alcoholism, drug addiction etc, introduced to the indigineous populations of the British colonies for example.
This latest one? We blame China. But really?
So in your opinion, measles, small pox, venereal disease etc were deliberately' unleashed' on indigenous populations as a form of germ warfare?
LOL - probably more a case of unleashed ' bonking ' as Stawks so nicely put it.
Call it a lack of "social distancing"

Wikipedia has quite a lot of information under Biological Warfare here on the history of the use of germ warfare going back to medieval days and more recent use. There is even some speculation that the black death that resulted in the killing of some 25 million Europeans might be linked to a seige event in the Crimea in1346.
There is "strong circumstantial" evidence that smallpox was deliberately introduced against the Aboriginals in NSW.

Having said that though, I hasten to add that I don't think the current Covid 19 Pandemic is in any way a form of biological warfare

HIstory tends to repeat itself...'specially when it's the same perpetrators that keep repeating the same actions on subsequent generations...

I tend to think icy is making some very valid points.
There is no doubt that germ warfare has been seriously considered and researched by many nations over the decades. Most people with any understanding of international relations and defence would acknowledge that biological warfare is still currently being researched and developed by some nation states. There have been numerous recent media reports from reputable organisations suggesting China is one state currently involved in such research.
While I doubt that China has deliberately released COVID 19 on their own people and other nations, nothing would really surprise me in this regard. Our own government has warned on numerous recent occasions that China is currently involved in covert technological espionage and that Australia is one of the countries targeted in this way.
China has also been much more assertive and aggressive in its claims over disputed territories recently as well as being more provocative and antagonistic in its international relationships.
Is it possible that China would deliberately release a virus that would cause a breakdown in global financial markets and cause extensive disruption to the running of other sovereign nations ? Stranger things than this have happened in the past and if anyone was going to do it at the moment, going by its recent actions, China would be a prime candidate..
