What a drama!

So the rabbit has just raced in the house from the back yard faster than I have ever seen him run with this black thing running behind it. In the blur it looked like a panther!

It was a freaking cat!

I've just spent the last 20mins trying to make the terrified rabbit safe whilst trying to get this stray cat out of my house. I had to boot the cat to get him to move away from the rabbit. And then he wouldn't leave the house.

The rabbit refuses to come out of his hiding spot and my leg is bleeding from being clawed by this blooming cat.

What the heck! It's not like the rabbit is a tiny little thing that could be mistaken for a mouse.

Why can't people keep their stupid cats inside? I am sick to death of not being able to keep my own pets safe and secure in their own house because people allow their cats to roam during the day.

The stupid cat wasn't wounded channy's mum. The thing lunged straight back after hitting the wall. Cats aren't exactly delicate things.

Although I will be honest - taking care NOT to hurt it was not uppermost in my mind. I could see my rabbit was about to make a move so instinct kicked in. And if I hadn't managed to finally get the thing out of the room, I WOULD have hurt it if it meant the difference between my rabbit surviving or not.

Sorry if that offends anyone but my pet had my priority.:|

I was being a little tongue in cheek girl. There is no way one could have controlled that situation any better and if there was to be a casualty, well let me see, your rabbit was in it's own home being attacked by a trespassing feral, hmmm don't think I'd be putting the cat first.

This is why I keep my guys in an enclosure, I don't know how they would react to rabbits etc and I don't want to find out, because Charm is a very powerful boy.

Blessed are the cracked, for they are the ones who let in the light.

I object to her apparent cruelty because of the way she has described what happened - she kicked the cat and it hit a wall and I think she kicked it more than once. It should not have entered her home and she wanted to evict it as soon as possible but causing it pain was not the best way to solve the problem. I understand the situation and I know how painful scratches are. When I was carrying my young cat early this year he became scared and clawed me so I let him go. I've always found the best thing to do is to leave a cat alone when it's aggressive or scared.

I've taken you off ignore to see if you came up with a solution. I see you haven't.

I don't care about a couple of scratches. My only concern was my pet.

Let me put you in my shoes - an obviously vicious dog corners one of your clearly beloved cats. And after attempting the obvious to get rid of the dog,  the cat is still in danger. IN fact your cat is about to move in an attempt to escape but it would have moved right into the path of the dog who is waiting with baited breath.

In that split second, what would you do?  ?:|

claire - you made me take you off your week long ignore lol.

The cat wasn't feral. It had a collar and looked well cared for. I have never seen this one before. None of my immediate neighbours have cats.

I sure as heck wouldnt leave an aggressive feral animal of any kind alone when its in MY house trying to eat MY pet.

Was martini suppose to go out for a few hours in the hope the cat calmed down and left of its own accord? :^O

I would not leave an animal alone that was going to kill my pet. I'd get it out however I could

A friend of my lives in the Royal National Park and the feral cats around there are unbelievable. They are HUGE. Like something out of a horror movie.

They have been known to bring down the deers (another pest).

Re: What a drama!

Kicking a cat is disgusting imo. Nobody likes stray cats coming in, but to kick it and describe it so graphically and uncaringly turns my stomach,
