What do you say to a friend who is dying?

I have a friend who is in his last days or, at most, weeks. I don't know how to speak to him about what's important. We can have conversations about all the usual unimportant stuff, but how do I broach the subject that he is dying and I'm going to miss him?
He knows I care, but I feel we have more to say. Am I just being selfish in my need to talk about this?

What's he dying from?

Freddie, he has multiple cancers.  Started out as prostate and bladder, but is now in his liver, bowel and bones.  I'm not in his primary care circle, so don't want/need to get into those issues. 

I just don't know how to breach the leap from casual mate/friend to concerned and loving friend

You (I hope) may not realise that au is a default prefix that ebay gives a new id

I did, foolishly it seems, ask for real opinions. I'll go back to not knowing what to say

Which you could have done under your  real regular ID? No-one here knows your friend.. their privacy isn't  in any danger of being breached.

I am only asking a question.. you want genuine answers use your real ID, my opinion only.

As pointed out before, au is not a prefix given to every new ID.. as we have seen today.
