What so Great about Heaven????

What do you think Heaven is if it existed?

Is it really that great if it existed?

Would it be better if you just died and stop existing or exist somewhere/somehow for all eternity?

Not for me. Your soul is the essence of who you are. But I believe in reincarnation, so I have to believe in a soul. LOL.

There is a book out about the experiences of a four year old boy. "Heaven is for Real."

Which means nothing, he has admitted it was all a giant load and made up to get attention.

Its a sit down bathroom, as "They will not stand in need of urinating", as you so wisely pointed out , also if they are all 60 cubits tall it would be a bit like Niagra Falls at the bottom.

It must exist. There are dozens of children running around with the name Nevaeh because their nutty parents think that by naming their child heaven in reverse they will reserve a place for themselves in one of the best seats.

i don't care to speculate what Heaven would be for me, only the creator knows what to create for their children, Heaven does exist, i know this, God exists, I must know this, and i must know that God gave his only son, Jesus, to lay down his life so we could get there. God loves us that much.

How exactly does God have a son when the son is actually him?? How exactly does Jesus lay down his life when he didn't die and is God? If God wanted us to go to heaven why doesn't he just send us there. Why go thru so much useless suffering???

How do you know God loves us that much????

Yes, oh yes.. I believe it would have to be, The best this world, and life has to offer, taking away all the bad things in this life we have to endure, and in their place filling with more of the good things we have in this life,, would only be a small measure of what Heaven has to offer. So wonderfull of a place, or existence, the human mind could never imagine, a place so great, we must shed ourselves, our body and things, taking only our soul.

Do you have free will in Heaven?

thats something you have to decide for yourself Bob, everybody has to decide it for themselves, God's requirements are not impossible to meet, I don't believe God would put restrictions on us that were unjust and unatainable. I don't believe or fully understand everything in the bible, or everything said in a church, but I do have the faith part down. I wan't Jesus, the greatest man who ever lived on this world to be with me here in life, and to guide me from now on into the afterlife.

Do you think everything Jesus did and advised was great???? Tell me what God's requirements are??? How do you know what God wants? What makes you think the bible is what God wants?

Jesus provided the perfect example of how one should live, I try to think about that often, and to let that example take presidence over all other examples. I don't think about doing what others did to gain wealth, or status in this limited life, I think about doing what Jesus did, or similar to gain something far greater. I won't do those things to post in here and brag about what a good person i am, i do it to gain favor with Jesus and God, that's my soul motivation, It's motivation for my soul. But that's me, you Bob, have to make your own choice, God won't force this on anyone.

Can you tell me what a Soul is??? Say I said to you, praise me or I'll beat the **bleep** out of you. Do you have a choice?

I have no idea about heaven, rather not spend my life thinking about what happens when I'm dead.  Life itself can present like heaven or hell sometimes.  Depends on the choices one makes in life.  Is it choices or is it fate/destiny? Different topic I guess...

Imo that quote from Joanie is really quite profound, especially the bolded bit. It explains why some people generally "need" religion in their lives.

Just a question -bit off topic, but I know there are quite a few athiests on here- and it's a serious question, not intended to attack anyone on an interpersonal level or anything like that.

Would this statement be correct?  "As an athiest I dont believe that humans have a soul"

Atheist can believe or not believe in a soul, whatever that is. Atheist can believe abortion is evil or not evil.

Would this statement be correct "As a theist, Faith is necessary to believe in God" By faith it's defined as belief without evidence. If you have evidence, then it's not faith.

Knock knock.

Who's there?

Jesus. Let me in.

Why do you want in?

I want to save you.

Save me from what?

To save you from what I'll do to you if you don't let me in!

Well...if you can determine exactly what a soul is, then we have a start point.

ATM, there's never been any way of proving that such a thing exists. All scientific evidence points to the contrary, and although the clergy will tell you that it exists, there's just as many people who will state that it doesn't.

I tend to believe that a soul is a construct of man's imagination, and when someone states that something is 'food for the soul', it's just that whatever they're speaking of, resonates with their subconscious mind, affording a feeling of bliss and wellbeing.

I can achieve the same listening to a piece of classical music, or looking at a wonderful scenic vista. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction, of wellbeing. It releases endorphins in my brain...
