Depends whether you want a holiday or want to travel.
For a relaxing holiday go to a place you're comfortable and easy in.
For a travel adventure, try something new and exotic.
I haven't been to Vietnam, but have heard lots of rave reviews.
For me personally, I never go back to a place I have already visited - the world is so wide that I want to spend my travel $$ on seeing and experiencing something new.

It IS awesome - it is Cronulla beach.
And it's exactly the kind of place I mean when I say why not holiday local? Great surf beaches, sea pools and rock pools. Loads of restaurants, cafes, pubs, clubs. Good shops. Lots of activities - cinema, ferry trips, surf school, kayaking, bushwalking nearby. Etc. A 10 minute ferry trip to the Royal National Park. And only a 30mins train trip to Sydney CBD.
It makes no sense to me to search for those kinds of things overseas when we have it on our own doorstep. ?:|
