Ms York said the Marriage Alliance wanted to find out what impacts legalising same sex marriage would have.
“We so have to find out what ramifications there will be. What will be the effects, there'll be so little discussion about this,” she said at the launch last Sunday.
The group said it had contacted Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull to make them aware of the decision.
"Has political correctness or the power of a certain lobby group reached so far down that it now erodes the once proud Australian 'fair-go' character that it is preventing ordinary Australians from having a voice?” Ms York said.

US is different. Our same sex unions are a little more co-hesive in Australia.
However they are still not equal to heterosexual unions in many significant sector in relation to civil rights and in particular in family law. For example, if 2 lesbians have a baby, only the birth mother is classified as the legal guardian.

that's what they want to inform you about.
And where and how are they doing this?
If in fact they WERE doing this then the ad would no doubt be acceptable. But the ad does not provide information. It only has thinly disguised anti statements.
and a click-through for more information, if I remember rightly.

One of the big arguments the anti-gay marriage advocates espouse is that "God intended marriage as a means of procreation"
our ex pm is an atheist.
Gillard opposes legalisation for same sex marriage in Australia., saying she believes "the Marriage Act is appropriate in its current form, that is recognising that marriage is between a man and a woman" and that marriage being between a man and woman "has a special status"
after she was no longer a pm
she changed her vies somewhat
saying she accepted it was only a
matter of time......

now where have I seen that stance before?
Not at all.
The law is clear on homosexuality discrimination.
This ad is teetering on the edge of breaking those laws.
As I said earlier - if this ad WAS discussing the topic or providing information than perhaps it wouldn't be so controversial. As it is their 'questions' are clearly intended to plant seeds of (misinformed) discimination.
Nobody's being discriminatory about homosexuality. Who would dare?
In fact they clearly states in the ad that it is not a discussion for or against same sex marriage. It simply gives you an address dot com where you can go to find out more on how the legalisation of same-sex marriage will fit in with the laws of legal marriage as they are now.

The point everyone seems to be missing is that channels 10 and 7 are COMMERCIAL stations - they are there to make a profit. If their audiences drop significantly, then advertising clients will take their business to other stations. If they suspect that running the anti gay marriage ads may cause viewers to switch off, thereby posing a potential threat to their bottom line, then of course the stations are not going to run them - it's basic economics.

This topic is simply about equal rights.
Equality- as the dictionary states
fairness
equivalence
parity
equal opportunity
impartiality
egalitarianism

Thread title says Why Have Channels 10 & 7 Banned This Ad?
She ele answered it beautifully IMO

the ad hasn't been banned.
ch 10 has not confirmed claims that it refuses
to run it and ch 7 issued a statement saying the
requested run times were unworkable.
