Why Target stores had to close

Why Australia's Target stores had to close

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-23/what-caused-target-australias-downfall/12277400

when it comes to shopping in stores like big-w, target or k-mart do shoppers really care what name is over the door?

or is it the prices on the shelves?

if k-marts prices are generally lower than targets then just fill the target stores with the same stock as k-mart and at the same prices seems to be a solution.

save money on all that rebranding of stores.

just how many million $s does repainting and new signage ect ect cost to remove all the target stuff and put k-mart things in their place?

now, can we see a list of stores closing and a list of rebranded stores please?

we have a local target store so im interested.

Re: Why Target stores had to close

David, that link shows which stores are closing altogether and the 2nd list in that link is for stores that are re-branding as  Kmart.

Yours is not closing.  It will stay a Target store.

My town's Target will close . Wesfarmers talk about the "  Australia's ailing retail sector " . Ailing ? or centralising for maximum profit ? " will help the wider company"  Well we must sacrifice for the wider company potential. Life goes on , we shall plod on , an ever changing commercial world, provision is made afterall , just a mornings outing - not so bad, not often in need of such items anyhow.
