Why are some people bad?

If god is good (or even exists) why do little children end up victims of pedophiles, why do they die of the most horrendous and painful illnesses?

Surely if there was a god and he was good he would never let those that have done no wrong be dealt such a cruel fate?

In most cases I agree with you.

Some with some mental illness have no control over their actions, but those are exceptional cases.

Some people are bad because they never felt happy while they were good.

That's not necessarily true. The environment in which a child grows sets his sense of "normal". That is why criminal and antisocial behaviours travel through generations. Fortunately, some grow up and adopt a more acceptable sense of normal.

As for god, it is human behaviour to have belief ...maybe in god, any religion, environment, family, space people, witchcraft, karma, dreams, the future...whatever. A person with no beliefs is hollow IMO.

I agree with you on that as well. Many reasons why some people are bad or turn bad.

I believe in evidence and rational thinking. I believe in doing good for goodness sake.

I believe in the things you mentioned. But I also believe in people's right to believe whatever they believe. I believe in belief.

The only time belief causes problems, is when people think their belief is more valid than other's....IMO..

I believe that no god if he was good would do to children what is happening to them the world over.

How can anyone justify what happens to children as being god's work?

If the lord does work in mysterious ways it is about time he explained himself because I am not seeing any good from any god and if we are to believe in god than we are to believe in all that is bad with the world as well as all that is good.

either god is repsonsible for everything or he is responsible for nothing.

Omnipotent? thats we were taught, so surely all should be good in the world and he should protect us from the bad or does he like people to be bad so that the good suffer, and if he wants the good to sufffer, why?

If good comes from belief in god then so does bad.
