Earlier on there is a post about Sen Nigel Scullion flying business class recently. They should all fly economy imo.
Did they cut out all the Gold passes ?
COMMENT BELOW: Can a life gold travel pass for former MPs be justified?
The pass hasnโt been available to those who entered or re-entered Parliament after March 2012.
But senior members of the Coalition will be in line for one when they retire or are voted out, though with a reduced quota of 10 domestic return trips with a family member a year.
Senator Madigan is also calling on MPs to fly economy when travelling domestically.
MPs currently receive business class travel for electoral and official business, and can bring along a spouse as well.
Senator Madigan said that before the Government looked to slash funds from those in society who needed it most, it should ensure the money it was spending was being used for โthe greatest possible benefitโ.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said politicians will help in the Budget repair job and feel some pain.

We don't pay taxes to see Australian's starve while our Government gives charity to mega Corporations
Its not the only reason we pay taxes. No one is going to starve if they are wise what they spend our taxes on.

Prince William flys economy long haul. The Queen says it is not good to be seen spending money excessively when times are tough for your citizens.

@am*3 wrote:I can't believe you wrote that. Govt benefits are intended to cover basic necessities ( food, electricity & a roof over ones head). That is what people on benefits are struggling to pay now, cut their pension by 10-18% what do they cut out??????
If you think a person can live a 'livestyle' on $250 a week (Newstart/dole) please tell us how.
Well some do don't they? Thats why they are complaining now, cause its not going to so easy to get?

I think you must be having a giggle here Crystal ..you can't really be serious ?

I don't think some understand how a person/family on a Govt benefit or a low pensions has to stretch a meagre income to try & cove the costs of basic needs now, let alone with the new changes.
$250 a week!! ( plus meagre rent assistance, if eligible, plus for people with children,Family Tax benefit if eligble - which is going to be reduced)

Iza I am.
I never understand the family a and b stuff either.
People add to their family relying on it and put it towards an income, that astounds me, Its not an income.
