Why did God Promise land to the Jews?

Why is God getting involved in Real Estate and why are Jews God's Chosen people? I thought we're all special.

He's foreclosing on the Palestinians. They haven't been paying their mortgage and just their presence has been running down property values in the neighborhood.. He's giving it to the Jews because he knows they handle their finances well and he won't need to worry about getting paid.

I bet the previous inhabitants who had actually done all that building, digging etc were more than a trifle miffed - maybe that's where all the trouble started?
