Why did and do they wave and cheer people off when they are going to war?

Does anyone know?

"Next time when I make an off the cuff comment I will get the number right if that makes you happy Monman?"

I would expect/hope that all here would be happy for the "right" information DY.

Blimey, that's an easy one:

"Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
Cheerio, here I go on my way
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
Not a tear, but a cheer, make it gay
Give me a smile I can keep all the while
In my heart while I'm away
Till we meet once again, you and I
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye..."

Don't think they meant 'make it gay' in the same way it works now though...lmao

Funny Thing Donna.....A smart person once said that "A Politician is one who will lay down YOUR life for his country"....lol.   Sorta sums it up doesn't it?

Wag the dog in anyone's language....Propaganda does it everytime..just look at the Pollies of today.  Shoot me.  They're all bad.

Robert Heinlein wrote this book where if they wanted to wage war, it was up to those who would fight it to decide if it was worth fighting for.  I like that kind of equity better.  Don't you?

War....what is it good for?

I agree Cue, apart from WW2 I guess. The fear of communism is complete brainwashing, Vietnam was a disgrace.

Having said that, so much good music came about because of the war in Vietnam
