Why do people observe Good Friday?

Why Friday?

will tell you that he is an expert in Scripture. He assures you that Hell is not real and that Jesus is not YHWH.

Scholars will tell you they know it all. They have jobs in universities and seminaries etc. They preach the Word of God or write books on it.They ALL tell you that Jesus was crucified on a Friday.

The Bible does not say that.In fact the Bible appears to be absolutely showing that the cricifixion took place on a Thursday.

So my question is simple. Why would they believe anything these people say when the get the simple things so wrong?

Secondly many many people will say that the Bible translations are correct. There is a KJV only movement and they will tell you tat the KJV must be followed.

If you tell them the Bible is mistranslated they go beserk.

So if any one is interested I will show you through the Bible that not only was the crucifixion on a Thursday and not Friday that also the Bible is mistranslated.

If anyone wants to make fun or start a fight they will be reported and ignored. If anyone wants to search for the truth I am here to help you find the truth.I do not want to fight.I just want you to search for and find the truth.

As the OP seems quite knowledgable, may I please ask a question of you OP ?

Each year, the birth of Christ is celebrated on 25 th December.......(without fail, no deviation).....

and yet Easter (crusifiction 25 years later) changes from year to year according to the stars ?(or so I was told)

So, how is it that the calander was more reliable (for the birth) than the death 25 years later.?

Just wondering...I have asked many visitors to my front door over the years to help me understand this anomaly, but none seem willing to do so.

I am not the OP and you're not likely to see me at your door, but I'll offer an explanation.

The death of Christ is KNOW - it was Nisan 14 according to the Jewish Calendar. The Jewish Calendar was not like ours with 365 / 366 days per year and so the equivalant of Nisan 14 occurs on different days each year.  With xmas, because it was not a Jewish or a Christian celebration there is no equivalant Jewish date. Indeed Xmas was added much later by The Roman Church and the date was set on a corresponding date of a Pagan celebration - NOT Jesus birthday at all. As you will note, it occurs on 25th December each year - different days - but 25/12. The other point is that Jesus commanded his apostles to celebrate his death. No-where does he ask them to celebrate his birth.

Does that help?

OP while you are at it.

Could you please explain a question I have since my teens.

The Garden of Eden, Adam & Eve, ( forget the snake & apple ).

Those two lovers had 2 sons - Cain & Abel.

Cain the first human born, Abel the first human to die. ( His brother Cain did him in ).

This leaves Cain.

And

Only

EVE.

Did they date, if not - where did the rest of us come from.

Here is not the time to bring in Aliens.

Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters .

Firstly you need to understand that Easter and Chrismas were originlly  pagan holidays.

Easter is celebrated the same as The Passover. The Passover was an original Jewish festival that celebrated God killing the first born of Egypt and getting the release of the people from the slavery.

Easter was a festival of a false god of fertility and not celebrated by Hebrews.

Christmas also was not a festival celebrated by Hebrews but also a pagan festival .

Easter and Christmas were adopted to placate and bring pagans into the church.Originally the idea of doing this was probably not pure.

However they were taken and eventually used to Honour YHWH.So now their pagan origins are unimportant.

Christmas day was designated as the Birthday of Jesus although it cannot be correct but is just a date they agreed on.

The actual date using the Bible as a guide appears to be between the 8th May and 11th june (our calendar).

So to answer your question.

Christmas is a fixed dat that has nothing to do with the Old Testament festivals which were celebrated according to a lunar calendar.Christmas is fixed on a particular day.Because Easter equals Passover  it is on the times that Passover is on.

I hope that answers.

Genesis 5:3And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: 4And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: 5And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Adam had many sons and daughters.

The rest came from those sons and daughters, the same place that Cain took a wife from, either a sister or niece.

Re: Why do people observe Good Friday?

Thanks she elle,

I have heard that befoe, I just kinda thought if there was a certain way of following dates back then, it should be uniform...........

unless of course the fact that December wasn't even a month in those days meant they just guessed it..........

but surely, it was all Recorded in some Book so that it could be passed down (correctly) through the ages ???
