Perhaps not for the faint hearted. You have a good point too.

Anyway tasfleur I do live in hope that certain posters will return. I miss seeing 11dustyattic around, icyfroth too. and skyrider12-au.

Re: Woke up from the dead

Over time, I think a few will come back 4Channel.  There are still wonderful posters here though.  Since the changes eBay has had made to this forum, it is not so easy to post as it used to be.

Good morning Chameleon.

Your post "Now its mainly funny cat video's and mindless memes for muppets and morons. Welcome back to the Kindy playground"

It could be successfully argued that those who are considered "muppets and morons" because they contribute colour and happy pictures/posts without the need to be "for or against" clearly aggressive comments to this kind of forum, are those who do not feel the need to juxtapose with those who do.

I am happy to be counted as one of the "muppets and morons" on Community Spirit ..... and wait with joy for Friday, when Kopenhagen brings more inclusion for everyone here, without discrimination or judgement

Hi tasfleur, I like cats and there's nothing wrong with cat video posts and a couple of other things. That's not what chameleon54 was referring to.

How do you get that it was not what he was referring to - then in the next sentence :

He just mentioned that because basically that's all that is left.

It's a known fact that a certain bunch of people here don't allow certain subjects to be discussed. When they get discussed the thread gets loaded up with nonsense posts and people who post things that challenge the official narrative get attacked

Nonsense posts - hello - there is no discussion - but a heap of colourful repitition - have you been back to ' discuss ' - your continual Big Pharma - then your Dr Robert Malone - who worked for Big Pharma - to the tune of about 25million Us.

It's obvious that chameleon54 likes to discuss issues that he thinks relate to where we are heading as a society and what affects our society.  At times I disagree with him and on occasion there's times I do agree.  And chameleon54 has also mentioned about members who no longer come here to discuss things. This is because they are sick of being attacked or ridiculed. Sadly now a female member who discussed interesting subjects seldom bothers to come here. I certainly don't agree with a couple of people she endorses but I respect her for her intellect and understanding of what's happening to the world.  Anyway, back to chameleon54, he's a man with a farm who does physical work and other stuff. He may like to kick back in between jobs or after work is done and come on line to discuss certain things that interest him. But if that's been ruined by a certain clique then it's no wonder he gets frustrated.

Ever thought some of those members are sick & tired of the - misleadng - misinformation - false & harmful content of some of the sources used here.

Let all of us know when either of you need a discussion rather than a constant put down of the posters who don't agree.

I would have thought an apology to the Countess in order - after all it would be the gentlemanly - right - thing to do.

Re: Woke up from the dead

I wonโ€™t be holding my breath for @4channel to apologise when it is clear and obvious to most around here that he has posted inappropriate content aimed at another poster.  He has form in this regard (towards the same poster).

@4channel and John Howard, who 4channel despises, find apologies and the word โ€œSorryโ€ are just not their thing.

His playbook will see himself not post for several days, then come back as if nothing ever happened and not feel accountable.  That is what he did with his โ€œWhere were youโ€ question that was offensive.

This was on the Russia thread where he asked โ€œWhere were you when Iraq was invaded, causing the deaths and displacement of all of those human beings?โ€.  Very poor wording and the way it was posted is offensive.  No apology was made.

I wonder what chamo would say about these comments?

And yet 4channel is very vocal about bullying on the boards . . . an apparent expert on bullying it would seem (in more ways than one!).

I just dont come here as often as I used too. I,ve found other more productive things to do with my time.

Nothing wrong with funny cat video's if that's your thing but there used to be a range of posters here with a much broader range of topics discussed.

Cat video's for those who like them interspersed with discussion and debate of more important and pressing social issues. Unfortunately the constant pile on's and bullying by a few have driven away anyone who wants to have any kind of intellectual discussion leaving just the funny cat video's. The result is an unbalanced and boring forum that has lost the more intellectual component it used to have.

Anyway, bye for now. Not dodging any issues, just got other stuff to do with my time.

Re: Woke up from the dead

I totally agree, tas, and I also agree with what you said in the Oscars Slap thread (about reading without participating). There are often aggressions in such discussions, and people who want to convince those who don't agree with them that they are wrong. You are a very valuable member of this community, and very wise.

Anyway, I love your pics. They often make my day in a world so full of problems, hatred etc. They always put a smile on my face. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿฑ

By the way, I don't know... I see plenty of threads apart from the cute cats anyway: the Russia thread, the Oscars Slap thread, the COVID and vaccination statistics, the Novak thread etc., and there are also plenty of replies...

The main focus remains eBay of course - because this is the eBay community.

Re: Woke up from the dead

Chameleon, there are plenty of meaningful discussions on this forum if you want to look for them.  If your opinion of those/us here is so low, why not go to a different forum where appalling behaviour is tolerated and the posters enjoy abusing each other without moderation, not that I really think you would enjoy that either.

Perhaps your real problem with this forum is that many posters who you had preference of communication with have gone to those other forums which appears to have happened when eBay changed this one in a primitive way, who knows.

Respect is always better when reciprocated, particularly when there is a choice to be, or not to be here.

Hope you have a great and happy Easter break (if you have the time).
