I'm not going to complain cause I hate summer, but we Sydney peeps haven't had one really.
I wonder if this is the wettest summer Sydney has had?

my OH says you cant mow the lawn when its raining.
I dont understand why.
My dad has always done it. Rain hail shine, that lawn gets mowed every second saturday morning at 9.30 am. Just like clockwork.
I also refuse to mow a wet lawn. The reasoning behind it is that the ground is softened by the rain and the grass gets pulled out by the roots rather than cut - ruins the lawn. Not sure if this is an old wives tale or not, but personally I ain't mowing in the rain!

Flooding around us again, Northern NSW is bad again..... I was planning a trip tomorrow but decided against it.
My niece took 1 1/2 hrs to come from Enoggera area to us today, usually 1/2 max...... she said she saw so many accidents on the way too.

I'm flooded in again :_|
Oh, hope it doesn't last as long this time.
Just checked with my daughter to make sure she is aware that master 5's school pick up may be affected by road closures... so far so good as I was dreading having to go get him, I am chicken.....

Me too. I've got 10 cigarettes left :_|
Looks like I might be giving up sooner rather than later.

Hi Debra,
Thanks for thinking of me :-x
Still flooded in - had high hopes I'd get out this afternoon, but it has started raining very heavily again, so looks like I'm stuck for at least another 24 hours. 😞
Screechy boy is doing fine, eating well and flying well. It's so hard to know how much food he is catching by himself - he still gobbles up everything I offer him, but has started "catching" bugs off me instead of just opening his beak waiting to be fed - had a cricket on my arm the other day and he grabbed it quick and gobbled it all up. He's funny with the Christmas Beetles, he shells them like a peanut!
Just waiting for him to fully feather up and I will release him - reckon that's probably only a couple of weeks away at most. I'm going to miss him so much, and worry myself sick about him, hopefully I will be able to catch glimpses of him from time to time.

Hi Monsters, sorry to hear you're flooded in where in where you live. Hope you've got plenty of groceries and long-life milk etc. So glad to read Screech is well and up to speed so to speak with getting some food for himself. I was going to ask you myself before this but didn't want to intrude on other unrelated threads you had replied to - thought perhaps it might be poor form to do so, am quite new to CS, so happy Debra asked. When you release him he probably will come back for a while still till he gets used to the wild blue yonder. I'm sure the wildlife people experienced with such birds would have told you what you can and cannot expect. Yes, you will miss him terribly but you can take comfort in knowing you did your very best to ensure he can survive in the wild. I will be thinking of you.
