I was just reading Donnas thread which brought up some of my favourite words. Like nong. Nong is probably the best - it has just the right amount of put-down and there is no come back.
My other favourite is nincompoop.

I refrain from using any slang derogatory remarks.
There are much better ways of describing a person who performs a deed or vocalizes something deemed to be without logic or says something unfitting, malicious or vindictive designed to hurt another person's feelings.

It sounds like you're saying you prefer to use a more convoluted, dressed up with fancy words methods of insulting people.
I try not to insult anyone, but if I'm going to I just say it. And Some just ask beg for it.
