Yep! I gave it away in 1980 and still now, if someone could come up with a safe way of getting the same hit, I'd go back in a heartbeat. But I know they can't and I don't want to be dependant on anything again.

Does the yearning for a smoke ever go away ?

I quit in 1987, right before I had a massive heart and subsequent transplant...........believe me, I have never had the urge to light up............

Wow. Hubby pays about $4.30 for a pack of 20 and I thought THAT was expensive.Smiley Surprised He's been trying to quit but it's been a slow road. If he had to pay $20 dollars a pack it would definitely make it a lot easier to give 'em up.

It's the Aussie Government and their  tax system.

Same with petrol(gas) Sometimes $1.60 litre

equates to about roughly $5 gallon

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong,  I'm sure....lol

I just checked out a currency converter and it says $4.30 U.S. is about $4.58 Australian.

Smokers and drinkers have always been easy targets to rake in the tax revenue, but

that'sridiculous.
