there used to be a competition on UK radio, where they set a problem and then people dialled in with the answer - anyone who got it right won a big$ prize. ALL the time I was watching / listening I didn't see anyone win it? It may be still on ? It went something like this:
ADD ALL THE NUMBERS
TWELVE TIMES TWO
PLUS SIXTEEN
MINUS SEVEN
At the end of the show they gave out the answer - but I won't tell you yet
did anyone have a go? Can anyone solve it?

I hate puzzles that don't give proper clues 😐

I reckon it's a scam.
A bit like "i'm thinking of a number between 1 and 1000" or pick a number between one and ten. And because the chances of anyone actually guessing the the number is nigh on impossible given the question they (the radio show) will never have to prove how they didn't come by the answer

If the idea is to just add the numbers ? the answer has to be 23 because you ignore everything else

If the idea is to just add the numbers the answer has to be 37 (12+2+16+7) but it isn't. If it were that easy they wouldn't have a huge $prize for getting it right.
