I think I know what you mean lion, but tasers can also sometimes kill people..just saying.

It seems to me society is increasingly more violent.

because so many are accepting of it, always justifying it with 'if they hadn't done such and such then it woudn't have happened' and the good old gem 'he/she asked for it'

the victims are generally judged more harshly than the perpetrators.

And how would you feel if this guy sped off and ran over a mother and her 2 kids crossing the street? Or some other heinous crim.

Using that logic, the cop who arrested Sandra Bland should have shot her on the spot instead of arresting her. let's face it, she'd changed lanes without signalling - how would you feel if she did it again and caused an accident that killed someone?.

That's silly. Why would he shoot her? He was able to remove her from the car and arrest her.

People that run from the cops usually go on to commit more crimes, sometimes murder. I bet if you were on the receiving end, you'd approve of more force to get the guy off the streets.

That cop didn't get up that morning think, "I'm going to kill someone today!", and I'll bet he didn't think at any point during the stop. He may or may not have made a mistake in police procedure during the stop, but all the guy had to do was comply and he would more than likely got a ticket. It's the same in everyone of these cases.

On a side note....They are now developing a dart for cop cars. If a cop is chasing a suspect he can shoot the car with a dart with GPS tracking, rather than a dangerous high speed chase.

But it happens way to often and I have no sympathy for someone who resists arrest. You take your lumps and deal with the courts. And if you do resist arrest, you're rolling the dice, it's all up to them. None of these people are too smart. What makes a person think they can just run? The fact that it's a minor infraction makes them even dumber.

You might not believe this, but I'm anti cop. They don't do much, are overpaid, and they've never helped me...more like acted annoyed becaused I gave them paperwork. But one thing I won't do is fight them, that's what lawyers are for.

Perhaps they want to run because they are so scared of itchy finger cops.

I know we've had disagreements in the past, but in all honesty and sincerity, and I ask truly in the pursuit of knowledge, ........

do you believe in your heart of hearts that Samuel DuBose would have had a different outcome if he had acted in exactly the same way, and he was not a black man?

I would have thought disobedience to be a misdemeanour?

It is. But when the guy resists it becomes a felony.  No tag, minor offence. No licence, raises suspicions. Bottle of liqour under his feet...you need to step out.

And yes, he struggled with the cop. He managed to put the key in the ignition, start the car and put it in gear, with the cop trying to stop him. That is fighting a cop.

Was the cop in his right to pull his gun? That's a grey area, because for all anyone knew the guy was a wanted felon. That's how most are caught...traffic stops, and if you're not up to no good you rpoduce ID, or be ready to be arrested. There's no debating.

And how would you feel if this guy sped off and ran over a mother and her 2 kids crossing the street? Or some other heinous crime.

*Just wave to him speeding off....Cheerio mate!*

I hear ya.

Some people (of whatever colour) just rage against authority. Not something I'd be doing over there, watching or reading the news.
