I know we've had disagreements in the past, but in all honesty and sincerity, and I ask truly in the pursuit of knowledge, ........
do you believe in your heart of hearts that Samuel DuBose would have had a different outcome if he had acted in exactly the same way, and he was not a black man?We would never have had a disagreement if you didn't club me over the head with your infinite knowledge. (which was rare) I always respond how I'm talked to. The same in person. Seems like a reasonable question, so...
Absolutely. Except if it was me, a white man, I would have simply stepped out. And if I fought him I'd be w dead white man. Did you see the cop being rude to the man? And he politely asked for his licence multiple times. All those infraction, together, were very suspicious. I'd expect to be cuffed and put into the back of the cop car while he'd search my car for some proof of who I am, and anything illegal (guns, drugs, etc.) The missing tag alone is reason enough to search the car.
Ok, and I'll take your insult with a grain of salt.
Do you not have a problem with the concept that if you disagree with a policemans actions you can be killed?
Regardless of ones own behaviour , surely we all are entitled to the judicial system?
Do you seriously believe that the police should be judge and, in this case, executioner.
It wasn't an insult. That was an olive branch, lol.
If the cop shot him on purpose he should be charged, but still...the other man bares some responsibility. The cop knew he was wearing a camera and it would be viewed, HE put it there. He didn't know the man and had no reason to want it to become what it became. He was just doing his job and if the man acted like a responsible citizen should, he'd still be alive.
So no, I don't have a problem with that concept. The concept that if I'm given an order by a policeman and refuse I may be shot. Without it crime would skyrocket.
If a person resist arrest THEY are escalating the situation.
Hmmm. So now we're moving into more a philosophical arena. Why bother with courts? If the police know who is guilty is that enough? Should a single policeman be allowed to judge someones guilt or innocence without defence?
I'm not sure I trust them that much in that moment.
Why bother with courts?
The same thing the guy driving the car thought
If the police know who is guilty is that enough?
The cop knows he's guilty, that's why he is going to write the ticket. It's for the courts to decide the outcome. There are rules to follow. When a cop asks for your licence after seeing you make even the most minor offence that exists...you give it to him. If you can't, you step out the car if asks. He can't say, "okay, no problem, bye bye now"
Should a single policeman be allowed to judge someones guilt or innocence without defence?
That's their job and a citizen is entitled to a trial to be judged by his peers.
I'm not sure I trust them that much in that moment.
I don't trust them when push comes to shove either, so don't push them. A simple of dealing with that...say yes sir no sir and you'll be on your way. Questioning their authority only aids actual criminals.

A cop should never pull a gun over a traffic infringement. Period.

Sadly, that ideal isn't the norm these days. That traffic infringement could be someone with nothing to lose, or someone who thinks they have nothing to lose. And frankly, if you're not a murderer, why wouldn't you just comply?

Yes he should. I sure would! And I hope the cops go on strike over all these attacks on them. Especially by the media.
Here's a taste of what they have to deal with. Total all the gangs just like these 2, there are millions of them. Lets see you pull one of these guys over and not pull your weapon. There's no way to know how far the guy is willing to resist.
If it shows here, it paints an accurate picture.

I have no doubt that Jimmy, et al would excuse the Oklahoma pharmacist who executed a wounded thief, the Florida and Texas individuals who shot a black kid and a teacher, respectively, for playing their music too loudly......after all, those victims were an annoyance.........
Oh, and all three are serving 40 years to life..........

Gun happy Americans
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5ELyG9V1SY
I happen to like Australlia and the people for the most part. However I find it so typical on the part of some from this chat site, to blame things like natural rights, and self defence is a natural right around the world, not just in America. Blame guns, or blame gun ownership, blame the 2ed amendment, but never blane the police officer, deputy sheriff or state trooper, for they would be permitted to openly carry guns even if laws were passed worldwide banning gun ownership for the rest of us, and even if they managed to rid the world's people of gun ownership, cop would still have them and use them on us unarmed people.
I place blame with the cop who did this and the system that protects sadistic cops and harbors corruption, and it shouldn't matter that the victim in this case is black, any more than the beating murder of Kelly Thomas, or the shooting murder of John T Williams. Well, you can blame the gun I suppose for one of those cases, but the simple fact is there are sadistic people being employed and protected by a corrupt system that wants to see this on a mass scale.
Agenda 21, they say the world is too overpopulated and their solution is an 80 percent reduction of the world's population. Thats why this is happening, and thats why it's most previlant in what was, notice I siad was, the free-est country in the world. A country where the rights are outlined in law, not given away by popular demand. America still has them, as does Australia, and the world, natural rights can not be taken, but they can be violated, or given up.
BTW- the majority of Americans are not as you put it "gun happy" they are just like the many Australains who want guns banned and favor unjust gun control. Theas are the same people who think police abusing their power is a good thing, that believe what they see on their TVs. who refuse to look at the overwhelming evidence that the terrorist threat was created by agencys like the CIA to get us into unconstitutional wars. The same people who run from the truth like it was a desease.

Just who is, "They"? All "they" would have to do is ignore Africa.........in short order, the Sudan, Somalia, and other sub-Saharan nations would be depopulated.....

Agenda 21 EXPLAINED, full version
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GykzQWlXJs
This detailed presentation clearly explains the connection between sustainable development and Agenda 21 as defined by the UN. In depth research shows how Agenda 21 will ultimately compromise your property rights.
Regarding Ms. Bruntdland: Some have suggested she is merely a Democrat and I am way off base. First off, Norway does not have a Democratic Party, but rather Socialist democrats. Hopefully there is a difference. Internet research can be a challenge, so I respect those who engage in it! However, check out the XX Congress of the Socialist International in NY. Gro was the first VP of the Socialist International whose goal is to interact with labour, social democrats and socialists worldwide to spread the socialist concept of democracy. It is quite possible to be member of the Democratic Party and a Socialist at the same time. It is members like Gro whose desire it is to move the Democratic party more toward the Social Democratic Party.
I also want to thank "6or8pack" for pointing out my error in mentioning that Betty Perry's nose was injured by handcuffs. In fact, she slipped during her interaction with officers and hit her nose on the steps. Betty was aware of local ordinances, but chose to ignore them. This landed her in the holding pen. This error is mine.
Some have suggested they have "read Agenda 21 " and there is nothing dangerous in the book and besides, the document has no power to override their Constitutional right to own and control private property.
To read the book alone, without reading the preceeding and following documentation and activites would be somewhat like looking at a map of Brazil and feeling you now know how Brazilians think and feel.
The name A21 refers not only to the actual book, but to the entire sustainable development movement as defined by the United Nations dating back to the 1970's through today. That is why it is important to not only listen to the entire video, but research on your own to gain more information. Since this presentation was completed vast new volumes of information have been compiled. Check the sources in the back of the presentation and the United Nation's own websites to draw your own conclusions.

That's amusing......that is a five-year-old video...........why are "they" so slow in implementing the depopulation? It must be really stressful to live such a fearful life.........

"I would hate being a black person living in America."
I agree with that.
Short of simultaneous house to house search of every single house, building, forests... nothing will remove guns from bad people here. Here's an example that's played out daily hundreds of times, but the cop doesn't always walk away from a simple traffic stop.
On the same day this thread was posted....
He was a passenger in a 2002 Mercedes Benz that was parked illegally in a southeast Memphis neighborhood on Saturday night, police said. When Bolton approached the car, Wilbourn got out of the Mercedes and the two men got into a struggle, police said.
Police were initially alerted about 9:18 p.m. Saturday that an officer had been shot multiple times. Armstrong said Bolton was transported in critical condition to a hospital, where he died.
