My OH is hopelessly unromantic.
Out of 26 Anniversaries - he has remembered two.
They weren't consecutive.
Good thing I don't go gooey for these occasions.
Have been known to Lay-By Birthday & Christmas Gifts - give him the dockets - tell him go pick em up & wrap nicely - please.

When we got married, there was no such thing in Australia as Valentine's Day
If there was, we would have gotten married one week later.
Anniversary 6th Feb. - 44 years
Spoiler- But I don't hold grudges.
Who need valentines day when you can survive 44 years? Ours is coming up in april 46 years. OH never remembers our anniversary, and I usually remember the day after. ๐

Scallops and prawns in creamy garlic sauce on tp of steak sounds great.
OH loves all three, so now I have something new to serve him on Valentines Day.
He is an incurable romantic, old School gentleman, always surprises me with little gifts for no special reason at all. He deserves to be spoilt now and then.

You should be so licky.
Peter is my third husband. Had to wait almost 70 years before I found him. Third time lucky and I'm not giving him up until my last breath.
I have become a selfish old witch.

Always happy to be single at this time of year. Can't stand being bullied by the capitalist machine into proving my love. So sick of these days where one is subjected to constant pressure to spend money on something that should be done every day without the involvement of big or small business
I'm never happy to be single. The great thing about a holiday like Valentines day, is it might give someone who would otherwise be too shy to tell another he, or she has a crush on them, the perfect excuse. Give them a valentine, card, with some candy and flowers. Write on that card a short summary of how you really feel. Such a romantic start to a relationship, let the big and small business have their involvment in it, and once the relationship is started, then one can choose to give the flowers, candy, or whatever at their lesure.

Joanie - why not do it on any day.
We are all - in our own way - shy.
None of us want to take a chance - and - get hurt.
But on the other hand - as they say - 'this is no dress rehearsal' - you only get one chance at life.
Don't squander it - live it - take that chance - it may never come again.
Forget yourself for a while & get to know someone else - you may be very surprised.
