its a modern adiction, some just cant not look at their phones if it makes a noise.

Far too many these days go through life, heads bent, seemingly more interested in the little rectangular box that they carry about than what is actually happening around them. Maybe autos should be equipped with signal jammers that block phone usage unless the engine is turned off.

I've seen one driver almost crash into an oncoming car. He was on his phone and just drifted across the white line onto the other side of the road. Thank goodness he came to his senses and veered back into the lane....and the car he almost hit slammed his brakes on after getting as close to the edge of the road on his side as possible. Scary.
What I especially hate are the drivers on their phones in shopping centre carparks. They are driving around looking for a parking space, it's crowded with other cars and delivery vehicles, and yet despite the danger (not to mention negotiating corners with only one hand on the steering if they're lucky) they are STILL on their phones. They must have a death wish....but it's not fair if they end up taking someone else with them.

whats getting on my mind is the fact little by little i'm getting closer to the day when i will have to have a 'smart phone' as more and more life is revolving around them.
same with facebook.
businesses are now having facebook as their internet contact place and not email.
i can still remember getting paid in a little brown envolope, then pay directly to your bank arrived.
with the 'dont worry, no one will be forced to get paid by direct deposit. but it didnt take long for the cash payday to be scrapped.

I don't have a mobile phone (it's only last year I got a cordless phone for my landline), but I agree it is becoming essential when dealing with some companies. Australia Post is a good example. If you want to sign up for some of their extra services like sending your mail to a different post office than your regular one for collection, you have to have a mobile phone. Hell, they've got my home number, my email address...and of course, they know where I live. But that's not good enough.
Red Rooster changed their online home delivery service from accepting a landline or mobile phone number to mobile only. Mind you they're not as smart as they think they are. With the pay options greyed out if you haven't put in a mobile number the solution is quite simple. Change your STD code to '04'. Their new program reads the phone number as a mobile so you can then place your order. You won't get the SMS confirmation of course but I still get the email confirmations and the store still gets the order. I've complained to Red Rooster of course, but just in case they do nothing about it, just make sure whatever phone number you put in the checkout, as long as it begins with 04 you can still buy your chicken. 🙂 And for those who say just phone the local RR direct, if you only have the royalty dollars online then you won't get them by phone orders. Not all the online specials are available either.

I ordered RR on-line last night.
They were out of something I ordered, so rang me for a substitute.
Not for the first time either.
I may not have gotten my order at all if they couldn't contact me.
I dislike their on-line ordering website intensely.
And what's with the 'Paypal coming soon' bit?
They always had it before, now it's gone.
I know.....off topic............
