Today i noticed one of the cats eats soap. not content with soap he eats toothpaste as well.. i haven't had a cat do this before , is it unusual ?

The cat probably likes the animal fat in soap (there is a youtube clip of a cat licking the soap in a soap dish, and going at it like it is chocolate).
Does your cat eat the soap or just lick it?
As for the toothpaste... ?? Likes minty flavours?

I spose it's better that it licks the soap than it's umm bits, if it's going to lick your face shortly afterwards
