I believe the big phama has been granted immunity from law suits in the event of unforseen side effects - Four influences : Marketplace demand , Govt standards, manufacturers and company product liability insurance companies
( I think in the USA most of the oldies have effective health insurance and so must be treated in hospital if critical - so can not be fobbed off - an upside of their user pays centric socio-economic system)
Well, whatever the amount of deaths there are (keep in mind the ABC article that said stats were inaccurate / Inflated), we need to look at why treatment is not being optimised and we're being pushed into the "one option" of having a vaccine.
Watching the clip by Professor of Medicine Dr Peter McCullough provided in the post below by you, (Better to watch here at NEWS.COM.AU ), he says that early treatment with hydroxychloroquine rather than having infected people isolated at home until they're sick is the way to go.

Dr Peter McCullough published the first guidance on early treatment for COVID 19, In the American Journal of Medicine, August 7th, 2020
He describes hydroxychloroquine as a drug that goes within the cell and reduces viral replication. It has been on the market for 65 years. Countries such as USA and Aust etc. have dismissed early home treatment.
Lives that could have been saved in Australia, he believes half he lives that were lost and up to 80 / 90% of hospitalisation could have been avoided.
India with its crowded cities is a country that uses hydroxychloroquine, their death toll per million is less than 100. In the USA per million is 800.

WIth regard to the above, the stats would be much different if the US followed India's example.
So with Big phama probably being granted immunity from law suits in the event of unforseen side effects, greed, corruption, rushed vaccine, the fact that an obvious effective early treatment is being ignored, incompetent leadership, stupidity in handling a situation and a vaccine being rushed out years before it should, I say that there is not much of a justification.
