do you remember a time when it was a better place to live

I remember when news agents had a stand out the front

with Papers under a rock

You took a Paper and left the money on the stand

Now days they would steal the money, the papers and the stand

and throw the rock through the window as they were running away

The folklore about fritz was that it was made from the scrapings from the ripple-soled shoes of the workers ...

(ripple-soled shoes, now there's another memory)

Fritz was also said to be made from "lips & a*holes" - probably some truth in that !

Well I am so glad that I never ate too much Fritz.

Ripples, I remember. I never had a black pair or ripples. I had desert boots instead.

And remember a time when class sizes were 30-40+. Funny that.

I wore my DB's with jeans. Seriously high waisted Corfu and Staggers.

Can't say I wore flannel shirts, but whatever top it was, I'm sure it was tucked in.

I caught the train to Elizabeth from Largs Bay when I was about 15 to buy a pair of Corfu jeans

I think you could only buy them there when they first came out

and with my first pay when I started work I bought a pair of Levi 501's

still remember they were $7.99

I have never worn a flannel shirt, ever.... but did have desert boots! I wanted gym boots once but my mum said no.

The fad I recall the most was the Osti maxi dresses, lol. (and the mumu? moomoo? which the mums wore.)
