I really don't have any expertise in this area, grizz, just trying to
remember how our poor old Lab used to behave with different
ailments. Will he let you touch his teeth? (Are you game?) He may even have
bone/thorn/splinter stuck in his gum or cheek.

Poor doggy. Hope he's not too miserable. It's hard when you can't help them.
Breaks my heart. I hope he comes good. Good luck with a vet though.

he seems fine now. just while he was eating. weird.

Yes, they do! My dog cracked his tooth on a bone (he is a bit of a bone piggy) and he had a sore mouth, slowed down his eating and his breath was awful.

ok vet tomorrow. he has a small infection on his back leg anyway
