:_| Washing machine, X-(
I made a post about this ages ago,:|
I was hand washing for my family of six as my machine died,:|
As i couldn't make my mind up on what i should buy i kept at hand washing, Until 4 weeks ago and bought a 5.5kg fisher and paykel top loader. Thinking it was so nice to finally have a machineB-)
I hate this machine, Its so rough on the fabrics it has torn a few items of clothing because it causes them to get stuck under the agitator. X-(
So i call the fisher and paykel help line and had a repairman out under warranty to assess the machine.
He looked at it and said it was all fine and to wash all clothes in a mesh bag.(never ever heard of machine) requiring this either.?:|
But still gets the mesh bag caught and tore it open during the cycle and now have a item stuck under the agitator once again and won't budge X-(. Grrr I have had enough of this rubbish. Then on top of this it leaves excessive lint on the clothes (yes i separate very carefully) I use half the liqard omo detergent and clothes still don't seem very well rinsed either:_|. I use the right cycle for what fabrics im washing etc, Im not stupid:^O
Tomorrow im taking the machine back to the good guys and making a stand on a full refund or replacement to another brand and if i have to make a song and dance till they help me out so bloody be it as they haven't been at all helpful either. .:_|:O:|X-(;\
So if any of you can tell me of your experiences with a excellant washing machine im all ears, 🙂
Thank you for your understanding but i needed to vent about this disgraceful appliance.

I Got success with the good guys after threatening legal action, They gave me a refund and i have purchased a refurbished Hoover premier 4kg with new motor, pump and control panel from a local electrician that is the same as my old machine for $385 so all in all I'm happy again.

4kg is too small for a family of 8......

4 kilo would be perfect for the fictional family of 8

Sure is, az. Grannies washing for 1 or 2 people usually have a 5.5kg machine.
Hoover premier 4kg with new motor, pump and control panel from a local electrician that is the same as my old machine for $385.
The electrician can't have made much, if any, money out of that deal. The cost of a new motor, pump and control panel would cost more than $385.
Using second hand/refurbished parts they may have made a profit.

Mine is 7 kg.... and this granny only washes for 2 people....

A 4kg capacity washing machine may cost less than a 7 or 10kg machine, but if it means having to do two wash loads instead of one, it is a waste of time and energy.
Choose a washer that suits your needs. Manufacturers usually recommend a 7kg washing machine for an average family of four.

I do 6 loads for us 2........
towels on Saturday
sheets on Monday
dark clothes
light clothes
whites
gentle/fragile load.
spread over the week.

It would be hard going washing sheets for 6 using a 4kg wash mach. Would only be able to fit a small amount of bed linen in each load.
That is why l liked the 8kg, could get all the bed linen in one load.. saves time as well.

4kg suits as fine, It doesn't worry me as long as i keep up to date with the laundry.
It copes fine with most of our linen, I take the larger items to my dry cleaner.

You take your sheets ( for 6-8 people) every week to the drycleaner?
