its not hard to see why govts are loath to start inquiries or build a true ICAC
history shows often its those who start them who suffer the most
Chris Eccles, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews' top bureaucrat, resigns after hotel quarantine inquiry requests phone records
dans got himself in a mess, no amount of hand washing will get the dirt off his hands
in NSW gladys is in a similar situation
the spin doctors will be earning their keep these next days/weeks

Pot calling kettle lol
Fortunately my opinions are not bombastic but just opinions, which is fine for me, and they are not skewed by party politics.
Some party players are so yawningly boring and predictable lol.
Philip Coorey, Senior political editor for the AFR plays " spot the difference " between Dan Andrews supporters and Donald Trump supporters. Basically confirming my views that Andrews supporters ARE taking party parochialism to the dumbest extreme.

Nice try, but a paywall.
An opinion piece anyway.
Dan's fine by me Trump certainly isn't

The piece set out that while the politics might be different, the supporters blind faith in their leader even in the face of overwhelming evidence of gross incompetence and lying was the same. The tribalism and unquestioning mentality of both Trump supporters and Andrews supporters is a recent unhealthy development in politics.

the article is a load of rubbish... the media are getting a bit upset because they've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Daniel Andrews and Victorians still support him

actually, it doesn't.. most people are making up their own minds about what they know and see for themselves, they don't need the media to tell them what to think or who they should vote for.. Victorians are smarter than that
perhaps it's the daily Andrews press conferences where we've seen a lot of disparity between what's been said and what's been reported

not sure if this paywalled or not

I think you're right Debra.
I highly doubt anyone from interstate would bother to sit through Dan's press conferences every day to see what's what.
Non-Vics would just be reliant on the printed reports

looking from here i dont see much of dans press conferences
but what i do see are
the numbers
the numbers are falling
rapidly
he may have made mistakes but what he is doing is working
however in NSW they have a leader who is pulling the 'im a girl i fell in love and was weak' card
did she actually do any crime?
dunno
but bedding down with someone who has been doing crimes when your the leader
cant be good for your career
