I 'despretaly' need the funds. Oh, I forgot, I'm 64
I could do with some help to pay my Water Rates and I am 69 if that has any bearing on anything.

Well, I guess if you don't ask, you'll never know. I'm 45 and homeless, I called the homeless shelter last week, I knew they wouldn't let me stay there, but thought they might let me take a shower there. They wouldn't, but at least now I know. After seeing this, I'm thinking maybe I'll put a listing on craigslist in this area. Not sure how I would word it, but If I could find someone local to let me use their shower once or twice a week, I could maybe clean their house, mow their grass or some such thing. That kind of arrangment might be benifical to both.
Back to your problem, the car. I don't know, it's a long shot for someone to give away a car to a close friend or relitive even. Also this is the wrong forum to sell or trade anything in. I would recomend a local online classifieds like craigslist, offer money if you have it, a trade, or well, maybe to mow their grass. If theres something in it for them, it's still a long shot, but I would think the chances might be better.
And, if this is a joke topic, thanks for wasting 10 minutes of my time.

No, But a public library, McDonalds WiFi, some stray signals that don't require a security key code and this laptop, and i'm in business. The Library is the only place where the internet is good enough to do anything major like download or upload a video.

Thanks, Just did the search, nothing in truck stops or parks with a shower nearby. There is the life center, it's like a YMCA but they charge a membership fee and I can't hardly afford to keep gas in the car I actually do have.

I have seen cars in the free section of craigslist, but often it is a joke or prank listing. Even cars that don't run and aren't worth fixing can be sold for scrap. People should avoid listings that offer a location and tell you to just come and take it and don't bother knocking on the door. They could be trying to trick someone into stealing from someone else. I like my car, it's old, leaks oil, makes a weird sound sometimes, a high pitched squeel in the front wheels, will probibly break down before too long. I like it for a car to get from point a to b, but sometimes I wish it was a van, I could put a comfortable bed in the back to sleep in. I'll keep an eye open though, for those truck stops and parks that might have a shower.

Hope you find something, I am in Australia so things may be a bit different here re truck stops etc.
About 10 years ago, my daughter and her husband travelled across the US , they purchased a nice car, when they got to New York, they decided to sell it and fly to the UK. They advertised but no buyers, so they then advertised it as free...................... still no takers. So eventually, they drove it to the airport and parked it, with keys.

Well, theres "Ross County" just northwest about 50 miles or so, maybe a better sign. They have a YMCA and a Golden Corral, Hey, let me in!, I'm Miss Ross. LOL
