i realize that y'all call ground beef, minced beeef, generally. but what's the fat ratio normally, for beef, since this came up in a different thread?
and do you eat /cook with OTHER minced./ground meats?
you know,like pork,or chicken?
or things like crab?
i'm always up for new recipes,please! 🙂

Only cornbread I ever had was like chewy polenta -
you could bounce it off the walls.
You can see why we never go back for 2nds.

AND,btw,i grew up in new england,COTTAGE pie is what your gramma/nana tosses in a casserole dish to clean out the fridge, and covers with a piecrust, and the grandkids hope that SOMEBODY visits and eats it,instead of them getting stuck wth it for supper AND lunch!
sheperd's pie ,well,that's a variable,it seems,lol!

i have another question, maybe y'all can help me ? i have a friend in oz who will be moving to california later this year. what i'm trying to figure out to help her acclimate is what various cuts of meat are called in oz,compared to what they're called in america.
like you call it minced ,we call it ground. i know many of the names are the same, like t-bone,or porthouse, but i've read some here that i'm not sure of what it is,exactly. like what's a saddle of beef?

I just looked up Capsicum, because many of the recipes on Katy's thread include it. They are Bell peppers in any color!

i can't stand them, but DH loves them. his fave is stuffed yellow peppers.

Nothing like sliced linguica, chopped onions, chopped bell peppers and eggs, all scrambled together.

Sin,
On another thread someone mentioned a marinated strip-sirloin roast.
Okay, I get that it's a piece that if cut would have made sirloin steaks. What would we call that? Maybe we'd have to ask them not to cut it into steaks.
